J and R learn at home!

Winding Down

This afternoon we will say goodbye to Maud, our French exchange student.  We had a good time with her during her stay!  Unfortunately, both kids were sick for a few days (a week apart), so that put a bit of a damper on things, but I think she still had fun!  Right now, she and the kids are playing in her (R's) room, then we'll go to the post office so that she can mail her postcards home.

For the rest of this week, we'll be cleaning, organizing, and planning our school year!  I had considered waiting until after Labor Day to start, but I think we're actually going to start this coming Monday.  John will be traveling on and off through the end of September, so it will be good to get into our groove as we head into fall.

What a fun, albeit hectic, summer it's been!  Savor the last days of warm weather, as fall will turn into winter far too quickly for my tastes!  Have a good week!

About Me

Welcome to our blog! I'm Michelle, wife to John (usually called Dad around these parts, and also in this blog). We have two awesome, silly kids: J, our son, who is 8 1/2, and R, our daughter, who is 6. I'm also a freelance writer who enjoys scrapbooking and reading in my spare time. This blog was started several years ago in Florida, but we moved back to our native Connecticut a year ago this spring. Come see how we spend our days, and what types of things my fingers come up with when I take a few minutes to blog. Enjoy!
