It's almost here! 2006! Are your children getting excited? What things do you do as a family to make ringing in the New Year a memorable family occasion?
Here a few ideas to get the whole family involved:
A Celebration Timeline
"Students map the events of the year with a timeline. Students identify our national holidays, make and use a timeline, and appreciate the unique nature and shared values of family celebrations."
Make a Calendar
Have students make their own calendars for the new year.

Here a few ideas to get the whole family involved:
- Break Out the Photo Albums!
It is so much fun to look at all the old photos and discuss the fun times y'all have had over the years. - Have a Family Game Night!
You don't have to host a big party or go out to have a good time on New Year's Eve. Gather the children around, prepare some snacks, and pull out the board games. - Start a Family Scrapbook for the Year 2006!
If your homeschool family is like our homeschool family, we take every opportunity we can to have fun educational outings. Capture all of these, as well as the simpler day to day moments in a scrapbook or journal that everyone can work on together. - Make a Family Time Capsule!
Include letters, photos, personal belongings -- anything to help you remember this day when you open the capsule up 5 or 10 years from now. - Have a Family Slumber Party!
Gather as a family in your pajamas and camp out in the living room together. - Make the entire month of January a fun learning experience for the whole family. Make your own unit study about time, calendars, clocks, etc. Here is a good place to start: Journey in Time
