Dec. 31, 2007 - Goals for 2008

Happy New Year!

Earlier, I posted my 2007 goal results.  For those that may have a hard time keeping "resolutions", I recommend putting them on your blog.  I may not have accomplished ALL my goals but at least I REMEMBERED them for the entire year!  Normally, they're forgotten long before Valentine's Day!  It really works having so many "accountability partners" checking up on your progress.

Here is a list of my 2008 goals, not in any particular order.

1)  Lose weight (50 pounds to be exact)

2)  Exercise at least 3 times a week

3)  Make water my "drink of choice"

4)  Restart my "Total Money Makeover" and get to step 3 (Any Dave Ramsey fans out there?)

5)  Read at least 50 Christian books

6)  Go to bed early and wake up early (How did THAT get on my list again?)

7)  Have a consistent quiet time, preferably in the morning

8)  Start a home business

9)  Find a schedule that works and stick to it (Managers of their Homes)

10)  Go on a short-term mission trip with the kids

11)  Make this new apartment "home" for myself and my kids

12)  Give my blog a "face lift" and make it original.

Hi! I would love to be mutually accountable. :) Those are really good goals, but please go easy on yourself. This is a transitional year. You may have some ups and downs, but it will get easier. When I got divorced, I had tons of goals. For the most part, I did really good, but there were days it was hard to just get out of bed and that's ok. Those are the days you take a step back and reflect. What I'm trying to say is, I hope you won't be too hard on yourself. Sometimes life has a way of throwing you a curve ball. I went back to school full time after my divorce and I was determined to get my PhD. lol!!! I ended up not quite finishing my undergrad degree because a wonderful Christian man came along, who was willing to adopt my son and he made enough money that I could stay home and fulfill my dream of homeschooling and being a SAHM. I had no idea God had that in store for me. I'm so thankful that I was willing to give up my dream of a great college degree. If I hadn't, my life would not be near as full as it is today. I know this time is hard, but God does have a way of opening windows. I'll be praying for you and I hope you have a wonderful New Year. :)

Thanks for sharing. I think you're doing great if you accomplish even one! Changing is SO HARD!

Wow! 8 out of your 12 goals are the same as mine! Lose weight, get outta debt, sleep more, stay on schedule, etc. Perhaps we can spur each other on in this!
