Dec. 15, 2009 - Update!

Hey guys! Check out this video my GRANDpa made me. I asked him to make it, and within a few days it was done!!

Here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jjan2tWOkIU

Ok, Dad and Julia made it back safely! They went from Tri Cities Airport to Charlotte and from Charlotte to Phoenix and then to Sacramento. Grandma's going to spend Christmas there, and will probably be coming back pretty soon sometime in January. It was both of my cousins' birthday, and they were there for that, too.

We are going to have a guys' night here Saturday! It's going to be so fun!
We are just going to play cards and maybe PS3!

Dec. 12, 2009 - CA and school stuff

Ok, yesterday Mom and I went to the airport and dropped Dad, Julia and Grandma off because they are flying to CA. They will be there, and then Dad and Julia will fly back. (They will be back very soon though!) The reason why they are flying there is because my Grandma wants to spend Christmas with some family she hasn't seen in a LONNNG time.
Julia is going because she doesn't get to go on that many trips with JUST DAD! So, it's her turn now!

So far little Chloe is doing pretty good! She's growing, and Mom says that she is kicking a lot!

We were going to go to a party Saturday for our friend's graduation, but Paulie has WAY too much school so we aren't going to be able to make it. :(

We are going to a dance on New Year's Eve! It's going to be fun! Our whole church and more will be there!!

For Christmas we are going to have some fun! Not sure EXACTLY what we will do yet though. We are still planning it all out.

Dec. 6, 2009 - New Book!

Here is the rough first chapter of my book, Sword of the Spirit, plus my song, which did not show up on my last one, PLEASE COMMENT!

Chapter I “ The Inheritance”

As James sat by his old grandfather’s bed, he thought of all the times his grandfather had helped him through life. When James’ parents died mysteriously His Grandfather had been there, the last one left and he was dying as well. abruptly his grandfather spoke in a hoarse whisper, “My son please get the sword.” James jumped up he knew what his grandfather was talking about, the sword he had talked so much about and taught him the power of, “Here you go grandfather.” James said as he handed him a sword wrapped in linen. “Please get it out of the sheath,” grandfather asked. When James had done this his grandfather said, “Since your father is gone I am giving my sword to you and knight you with my blessing.” “Grandfather,” James started to say. “Let me speak lest I run out of breath, Guard the sword with your life, you know that as long as the gem graces its handle God will power you in all you do, choose wisely, for many of God-hating men will stop at nothing to get the sword, may you win all your battles with the Sword of the Spirit, choose….choose….choose…wisely      my                                            son,” Grandfather said in a mere whisper. “I love you grandfather,” James could hardly speak. “I am going to something better, Goodbye my son.”  “Goodbye,” James sadly intoned, “Goodbye.”

YOU Are With Me

-          Grant Lawson

You are with me

When I work and when I play

You are with me

When the world is dark and gray

You are with me

You are always always with me

You are with me

When it is dark and hazy

You are with me

When I’m feeling kind of lazy

You are with me

You are always always with me

You are with me

Through feast and famine, song and sorrow,

Blacks and greys

You always stay

During good times and bad

You are the One that keeps me glad

You are with me

You are always always with me

You are with me

When the sun rises and sets

You are with me

When I’m playing with my pets

You are with me

You are always always with me

You are with me

When the sunshine leaves the day

You always always stay

You are with me

When I’m mean and when I’m rad,

You are with me

When I’m sittin’ in my pad

You are with me

You are always always with me

You are with me

Thank you Lord for givin’ me

A song to sing

A bell to ding

The world’s doorbell I’m gonna ring

To tell them what You’ve done for me

Yes, they’re gonna see

That You are with me

That You are always always with me

You are with me

You always always with me

You are with me

When the world finally ends

You are with me

From before time began

You’ve been with me

You are always always with me

You are with me

You are with me

You are with us

You are with us

You are always always with us

You are with me

Nov. 9, 2009 - Apple Gala and Birthday Party!!

Just this past Saturday our church and some other friends went to the Estabrooks' Apple Gala!
It was really fun! (the Estabrooks hold an Apple Gala every year) We mainly played outside games like, Ultimate Frisbee, Capture the Flag, Freeze tag and Football. (there were probably....at least 50 kids there)
Mr. Estabrooks made apple cider with his 100 year old apple machine thing. It was really good! 10 or 12 of the people brought pies for a contest. (It was the "Best Pie Contest")
After it got dark, and everyone went inside, we all (the kids) played card games! We played Uno and Rummy. (from what I saw)

Sunday, we went to the Marcums' house for our friend, A.J.'s Birthday! He was turning 21!
Mrs. Marcum made a huge rib and pot roast  feast. They were the juiciest most tender ribs I had ever had.
After we ate, Paulie, Luke, A.J., Mike, A.J.'s sister Emily and her husband Josh, and I went outside and played Football and Ultimate Frisbee. It was really fun!!
Mrs. Marcum made 2 big German Chocolate cakes! (A.J.'s favorite I guess)
After everyone left (except us and Mike) Mike, Paulie, Luke and I played Rummy for like.....2 hours or something. We had a great time over at their house! Thanks, Marcums!!

Oct. 28, 2009 - Pretty Fall leaves and Baby Chloe!

Ok, I told you that I would post this week, so now I'm posting.

We all took a drive Saturday and Wednesday. (except Paulie and Luke)

We drove near Cades Cove (and went to Gatlinburg) Saturday and we went on just a pretty drive Wednesday. (we went to Newport and saw all the pretty Fall colored leaves!) After all that, we ate at Olive Garden! It was pretty good, except, Sani barfed every where.

Today Mom went to her doctor's appointment for a checkup. We hope the baby comes out healthy.

Usually, we have a bible study with some friends every Thursday, but we aren't doing it tomorrow because Mr. Marcum isn't feeling good and there is a lot of sickness happening now. We don't want to get sick with the baby and all.

Our studies usually are pretty fun! Sometimes people bring snacks and we have a good time.

Ok, Mom just came back from their appointment, and it turns out that she is NOT having a boy!! (I have to admit.....I REALLY wanted a boy. But I also REALLY like the name Chloe Abigail!) Yes, that is the name of the baby!

Over and out!

Oct. 21, 2009 -

This morning, all 6 of the TOS staff left. We had lots of fun with them over.
It's going to be nice getting back to my normal schedule.

Julia's party went really well!
She had lots of people over, a huge cake and presents.
We all had a great time.
My brothers and I are a little late, but we are going to get her a GameCube!

We (our whole family) are going to the Gonzalez' house this weekend for a game night!  (just board games and poker) It's going to be a lot of fun!

Well, I can't think of anything else to say; I'm not really doing much this week, but I'll post again next week.

Oct. 15, 2009 - Hello again!

Saturday we are having a birthday party for my sister, Julia! A lot of people are coming such as the Estabrooks, the Gonzalez's, the Petersons, the Marcums, the Marcums' son, Mike,  A.J. and his wife Leann.
She is turning 13! Her birthday is on Sunday, and we are going to be having some staff over.
It is going to be a lot of fun. One of the great things about Julia is that she is always giving.
Every time I ask her if I can ride her bike, she always says yes. (my bike is broken)
She is always watching Sani, even if we have company over.
Sometimes I take advantage of what a great sister Julia is.
I am going to try to be a better brother to her, too.
Thank you, Julia!

I just got back from Mexico not too long ago! Dad and I went because we wanted to see our great aunts before they died. We drove to Tasco and I bought myself a silver bracelet. Dad got the boys one too, and Julia a set of earrings, a bracelet and a necklace. We were down there for Mexico's Independence Day.  It was a great experience.

Oct. 5, 2009 - My new story!

No Need to Close                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       the Fridge: B.R.I.C.K.R.E.O.R.’s STORY

[5] As our story opens we observe Jemimia peering into her fridge getting a midnight snack. [3] “Actually, I prefer to call it fourthmeal,” Jemima interjects while the narrator reminds her that this story is in the third person! “Okay, Okay,” she replies as she looks for some syrup that seems to have disappeared. [2] In an instant, a blossoming hand, which reaches out, hands her the syrup. “Well, thank you very much,” she politely tells it. (We’ll call him BRICKREOR for now) [4] Opening the syrup, Jemima suddenly exclaims, “Wait a minute!” [1] Her peering eyes have found more than a snack!

[4] Horrified at what she has just found, Jemima covers her mouth in repulsion. [1] She feels her instincts telling her to run. [5] As she turns she feels vines winding up her foot.  [1] She looks down to see a glowing leafy rope-like vine running up her leg. [1] She screams as only a woman can (breaking several windows!) and continues to hobble forward while the vines sneak up her thigh. [2] Without hesitation, Jemima reaches up to grasp a pocket-knife and she hits the plant over and over but it merely regenerates. [3] Diabolically, the plant, which has now twisted itself from her waist down, pulls her to the ground. B.R.I.C.K.R.O.E.R.  soon covers her and [To avoid graphic violence this section has been omitted] eats her.  Jemima, the plant’s first victim, never knew what hit her!

[2] Inside the house, the door to the fridge was left open after the plant, well, ate Jemima, But this did not last long as soon the bulky vines close the door.  Fast forward approximately 3 hours later dad has woken up and goes to get milk. [6] The plant tries grabbing him.  The clever father shouts, “Wait! Let’s have a dance-off.” And of course B.R.I.K.R.E.O.R. agrees since no plant can resist a dance off!  [1] The dad goes first, a very good tap-clogging-Scottish dancing king. [5] After a few minutes, he concludes his performance as B.R.I.K.R.E.O.R. begins his routine. [3] Truthfully, he was very good at hip-hop. [4] Finishing up, it is clear that dad won, but of course the plant double crosses him and [To avoid graphic violence this section has been omitted] before dad, who is brainy, is pulled in he grabs a candle and drops it on the floor; the plant and house burn! No need to close the fridge door anymore!

Epilogue

The dad survived the fire, but revving about a plant he was happily lobotomized.  The police found no plant matter in the house.  The plant had pulled itself down the drain and now is under New York in the sewers with the alligators and owns a very successful laws firm! HEY what’s that on my le……
