Robinson's Self-Teaching Curriculum

This curriculum was a huge blessing to me, when I started homeschooling.  I found they had a scholarship program.   (Contact them for specific details.)  This allowed me to purchase the 22 CD's at a price I could afford.  I was also able to purchase the entire collection of GA Henty's works on CD at the same time.

I printed out the entire website and read through it in addition to printing out various books as we've needed them.

I liked the freedom to teach phonics and math facts myself, and then to use literature as the basis for the rest of learning.  If you're looking for something with sceince, this may not be the curriculum for you as Dr. Robinson believes that to teach science the child must first understand advanced math.  This is a great curriculum to use, however, if you're planning on doing nature studies for Science.

Robinson's recommends Saxon Math, beginning at Saxon 54 once the child has solidly memorized all of their math facts.  They even offer a discount on Saxon products for those who use their curriculum.

I found that the Charlotte Mason approach to home education worked nicely with this curriculum.
