Sugar time

We had quite the day today...

After lunch we went to the sugar camp belonging to some friends of ours. [Shameless plug: it's in behind the Stilesville Church on Gorge Rd. in Moncton, the sugarshack with the smiley face on it.] We dragged along- willingly- other friends of ours who'd never been there before, and had a great day of fellowship. We had a beautiful walk back the road to the camp.. a little mucky, our shoes went schhlluuuup walking along in some places... the kids ran ahead, racing with each other, it was soooo quiet, even with the few other people out for treats. We spent quite awhile talking to Kim, catching up a bit, eating her samples!!! lol Then we had the pleasure of hearing her new upstairs tenants: a bunch of squirrels! One of the friends we brought with us tapped on the ceiling, and boy, did they ever scamper! We laughed, it sounded so funny.

On the way back out, our 6yo decided she needed to sit down... her coat is in the wash to be clean for church tomorrow. And our son (10yo) who needs to run everwhere (like most boys I know) thought that would be a dandy time to twist his ankle (it's fine, mustn't have been that bad). We had our friends over for supper tonight, and had pancakes (with the syrup we bought) and sausage. LOTS of them, sausages bbq'd (first bbq of the season too!). Nothing beats real maple syrup. We bought some maple cream and butter too, although I'm sure it won't last long. Hubby says to spread some maple butter on apple pie--- it's really good.

And all that fresh air and excercise-- I'm toast.
