Wow, have I traveled tonight...

I was over at Gena's blog, reading her guest-blogger Sprittibee, followed the link to her HSB page, which led me to her Blogspot page, where I started checking out the blogrolls on her sidebar... man, some of those blogs have really creative names!!! One caught my eye (probably because I tend to say it a lot)... Yeah, right, whatever. I couldn't NOT read it. I have no idea who she is (besides being somebody named Beth), but I like her bullet-point run-downs of news items complete with interjected opinions.

Anyway, I found the following on her blog, and wanted to share it. I have no idea who the original author is, or I'd credit it.

NEW YORK -- A public school teacher was arrested today at John F. Kennedy International Airport as he attempted to board a flight while in possession of a ruler, a protractor, a set square, a slide rule and a calculator.

At a morning press conference, Attorney General Alberto Gonzalez said he believes the man is a member of the notorious Al-gebra movement. He did not identify the man, who has been charged by the FBI with carrying weapons of math instruction.

"Al-gebra is a problem for us," Gonzalez said. "They desire solutions by means and extremes, and sometimes go off on tangents in a search of absolute value. They use secret code names like 'x' and 'y' and refer to themselves as 'unknowns', but we have determined they belong to a
common denominator of the axis of medieval with coordinates in every country. As the Greek philanderer Isosceles used to say, 'There are 3 sides to every triangle'."

When asked to comment on the arrest, President Bush said, "If God had wanted us to have better weapons of math instruction, He would have given us more fingers and toes."

I can't remember where I first found the link to her-- maybe JenIG or Gena's blogs, or maybe even a Random Blog hit, but you really should go check out Fish in my Hair. She is funny, and helps me laugh at normal things, like buying a bathing suit. Maybe I should buy my sandals online.

Want to see something pretty?

I changed the font of my header and sidebar titles to LainieDaySH, and was soooo happy with the way it looked... until I realized that unless a visitor has that particular font, they'll see it in the next font listed they DO have. Bummer. So... if you want to see my titles the way I want you to see them (until I figure out how to create a super-large banner for my header, anyway, and upload as an image), you'll have to install my font. Try going here to get it.... or get the zip directly here.

I'm playing around with my blog title. "My little corner" seems, umm, kinda boring. So I'm changing it, but the problem is, I'm not sure to what. I'll just keep changing it I guess untill I hit on something I really like. Or until someone yells at me... LOL

Go welcome a newbie

Hey, while you're surfing blogs, why not go over to Louanne's and say hi? She's a good friend of mine in "real" life, and just getting started with this blogging thing. It's too bad you can't taste her baking in cyberspace-- her cooking is amazing! She also just gave me my first copy of TOS. . .  "Hey Jen, you ever hear tell of this magazine?" LOL  Her sister sent it to her, and she was eyeing the stuff about blogging. . . . (not that I'd know anything about that. . .)heehee  In return for my borrowing it, she gets to read the book of Gena's I'm reviewing (the one about hs'ing methods) when I get done.

Edit by Jen: I'm just very nosy. My site meter doesn't always give me accurate information, and I've seen a few locations from my neck of the woods (or nearly)-- I'm dying to know who they are (or at least if I know them!!!). I'm not really a big hairy wierdo or anything. Well, sometimes hairy, but just my legs.....lol.

Under construction!!!!!

HELP!!!

I'm trying my hand at customizing this thing, so I'm taking suggestions! So far, I'm just playing around with the colours, but I'm aiming for something easy on the eyes and restful to look at. Not quite sure if I've accomplished anything near my goal....

Hopefully by this time next week I'll have something I'm happy with.

Anyone know what part of the template to change for a new default text colour? I can't seem to find it. Also, how to get rid of all those little question marks I got when I customized... they're annoying.

I so far like the background and behind-the-posts colours, but the header and sidebar still needs tweaking. Settle in, folks, could be awhile!!!!

oh, hi there....

Well, it's official. I'm a blogaholic. This would make... ummm... my third... no, wait, fourth, blog. My first entries are usually pretty boring, and this promises to follow suit.

If you'd like to get to know me a little better before my entries here pick up, you can check out my other little corner on the web (the one I actually write in). It'll save me a LOT of writing. And all my links are there. I have yet to figure out how to add that stuff here.
