Life in the Desert

Rain
It's raining.  No really, it is honest to goodness raining.  In Arizona. In May.

Bunny went outside to see what the deal was and was stunned.  It has been months since he has seen water come from the sky.  He didn't quite know what to think of it.  Misterman looked at the rain for 3 seconds and went back to his video game.  Bookworm thought it was neat and walked around in it for a while and is now back inside.

I love the sound of rain.  I love the sound of cars splashing in the street.  I love walking in the rain.  I don't like driving in the rain.  But otherwise I'll take rain anytime.  I think it is because I grew up in Los Angeles, California.  It doesn't rain there very much.  And now we live in the Arizona desert.  It doesn't rain much here either.  I bet the folks in Seattle appreciate the sun shine like I enjoy the rain.

It looks like our brief shower is about over.   It was 20 minutes of wet drippiness.  I don't know when we will see it again.  Monsoon season isn't until August or so.

This kind of brief interlude to remind us of what rain is all about certainly helps prepare for the long hot dry summer.  Here's to the last rain of the season...  It was spectacular.
