Bunny, potty training and reading
And now for something completely different...  Potty training.

Bunny is potty training.  He living his life by the timer at the moment.  Every 45 minutes he sits on a potty.  And every 45 minutes he goes.  But if I don't set the timer, then he puddles.  Every time.  I don't know who is potty training here, me or him or the kitchen timer.

We have gone totally diaper free (including napping and night time) since Monday morning.  He has not peed in the bed or peed while asleep on the floor (the nap).  But he has peed in his pants more times than I can count.  He has not, yet, told me before he needed to pee.  EVER.  This is why I waited so long to try the potty training, the fact that he doesn't know before he goes that he needs to.

We aren't going to talk about solids, just enough to say, I wish he went at the same time every day or even close.  He doesn't and since he doesn't say before he goes...  it is messy.

But the cool part... getting him to go the bathroom every 45 minutes was a challenge so I started writing sentences on a white board and leaving the white board in the bathroom.  Now he gets part of a story every 45 minutes.  And he is reading the story.    Yep, that is right.  HE is reading the story.

Yesterday's story was:

This is Ned.
Ned has a farm.
Ned has pigs on his farm.
The pigs can play in the mud.
Ned has ducks in the pond.
The ducks can swim.
Ned has a red barn.
The barn has a black cat.
The cat has three kittens,

Today's story so far is:

Ned has three kids.
Ned can see Beth, Vern and Dan.
Vern and Dan are boys. (I told him are, it isn't a word he can sound out)
Beth is not a boy.

And he can read all of this.  Except are.  I am so impressed with this little boy.  Wahoo Bunny!!!!
