Rodents I have loved

My dd asked for a guinea pig for her birthday last March. So now we have 2 very cute "piggies", who get a lot of attention from her. Princess Cutie-Pie and Princess Pinky live in the school room. They get "venchtables" (vegetables) every evening or whenever she thinks they need them. They are awfully cute, but who would have thought that a rodent or two could be so lovable?

Pinky is albino ( or "has albino" as Kate puts it). She is the biggest guinea pig I have ever seen. We often call her a ROUS (Rodent of unusual size). Despite her size, she seems to eat less than Cutie-Pie. She does like to chew however. She has the funniest reflex: when you scratch her rump or her back she chews whatever is there. Silly piggy!

Cutie-Pie is a voracious eater. She likes all kinds of "venchtables". She also is quite fond of popcorn. :) She will steal food from right under Pinky's nose and take it to the other side of the cage to eat. She will, I'm sure, be glad when it is cool enough for her to go outside for a little nibble of grass again.

I am sure you now know more about Kate's pets than you really wanted to know! They are really cute however. :D

Hi. I am new to the blogs and forums, but I saw you on Sonlight forum and also noticed that you had a homeschool blogger. We have two things in common already and since you are jennifer too, i figured it was good to say hello. My kids are 6 and 3 and I just got core one for my first grader. I am looking forwrd to it becaue my kids just want to read every second of our school time anyway. My username is the same on both sites...jenniferinalaska...if you'd like to respond or look at my profile. Thanks and hello!

Hi Jennifer,

I'm another Jennifer, found you through the sonlight forums. My kids are 11,9,6 and 4. My 9 year old daughter has two guinea pigs too! I think they are the cutest things, and I love the way they 'talk'. I could do with less stink from the cage! Their names are Guinea-Guinea and Blizzard. I'll have to blog about them now, you've inspired me. I like your blog,
blessings,

p.s. I linked to you on one of my recent posts on my blog, haven't had many visitors lately so you probably haven't noticed.
