Hello Ladies!  I pray that everyone is having a great week and that your mountains have become your molehills.  If that makes sense to anyone but me...LOL.  Thank you for submitting some new ideas for me to use.   I got this idea from Pat and her beautiful daughter-in-love, Jenny in an email about two weeks ago, so I decided to use it first.  I quoted her email here to give the directions.

"what if you took Jennys idea about showers of blessings and if we all told about a time God showered us with a blessing and how we paid it forward to bless someone else or how we had done something for another and in turn were blessed."  Share a verse or worship song that touches your heart for this assignment.

A few weeks ago my family and I had $100 that we had lost and we had very very little groceries in the house. This was very unexpected. Well my in-laws gave us $100 to go get groceries and not expecting anything back in return.  It was such a blessing.  Well we were able to pay it forward back to them here recently.  It was nothing like what they did for us but they underwent an unexpected family emergency and they have an elderly lady there who is nearly bedridden but is still able to get in a wheelchair and allow someone to push her.  well its my grandmother in law.  She is also a diabetic.  Anyways, my mother in law was unable to go anywhere at the time because her vehicle wasnt at home and she hadnt been able to go grocery shopping yet and didnt have anything to eat for her.  So my hubby and I were able to cook her some food and take it over there and feed them a meal.  and they were able to feed her.  I know it was something so small but we were so grateful just to be able to do that little thing for them. they do so much for us that we were just thrilled to pay it forward back to them.  My song that I chose that touches my heart is called "God Loves You"

God Loves You

Hope, like a flower will push through the smallest crack in your broken heart

And out of the deep darkest night will shine the brightest burning star

Oh its there like a half remembered song

the thing thats so familiar but have known all along

God loves you and He wants you to know

He is with you You are not alone

HE will see you through.  God Loves you

Tears are just water and salt but a thimble full can make oceans wide

But trust that just one gentle wind can sail you to the other side

Oh its there like a whisper on the breeze

the truth thats so familiar but so hard to believe

God loves you and HE wants you to know

HE is with you you are not alone

HE will see you through.  God loves you

You dont have to be anywhere near perfect

You dont ever have to prove a thing

You are loved you are loved

So far beyond your imagination

God loves you and He wants you to know

He is with you you are not alone

He will see you through.  God loves you

He loves you He loves you

Apr. 10, 2008 - Big Blessing

My family and I lost $100 a month that comes in and we were counting on it to buy groceries with it.  it was so unexpected and we were given no notice.  Now im gonna brag on my in-laws.  they bought us $115 worth of groceries.  and my moma-in-law took me to go get them too.  When we found out that we lost that money coming in I started praying and balling like a big cry baby and asking God how we were gooing to afford our groceries because we had minimal amount of groceries in our house.  and when i say minimal i mean we had 1 meal left to go.  my hubby wasnt going to get paid for another 2 weeks. So i started balling and praying and God came through for us once again.  they are such a blessing to us.  Does anyone else have a blessing that they would like to share?  mine was huge!!!!  God is so good.

Thanks God and Moma-in-law!!!! :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

What's Cookin' or Not?!

As spring is among us and summer is approaching my family and I slowly steer away from the big hot dinners and more to the salads, sandwiches and fresh fruit.  We'll be doing lots of canning and preserving foods this summer, so I won't feel like cooking big meals every night like I do now.

For this week's assignment I thought it would be fun to share our dinner plans for the night or if you're organized enough for the week.  You can include pictures if you desire.  Also tell what your family likes to drink, if you have desserts or not.  If you want to then take this assignment and let all the children in your life make dinner for the night.   Please add your favorite verse for this assignment as it might be an encouragement for someone else.  This week's assignment is short and sweet so have fun with it.

we are having spaghetti tonight.  Our favorite desserts is my hubbys is peanut butter cookies (which i will make for him and also cheesecake but hes only getting the cookies) and mine is chocolate chip cookies especially when they are still hot and soft.  like they melt in your mouth,  yummy to my tummy.  My son likes to eat whatever hes given he has no preference he just loves to eat.  hes 10 months old now.  growing boys. hahaha. our favorite drink is mine happens to be dr. pepper or yoohoos.  My hubbys is sweet tea.  and my son loves tea and juice and all kinds of stuff.  I think i hit everything.  that was fun.  thanks for this assignment.

Apr. 1, 2008 - BFS #21 - Barrel o' Laughs!

I was pondering some ideas that I had last week for some assignments.  I had a few already but decided to switch them out for something that would be more fun and on the lighter side.  I sat and wrote out 6 weeks worth of assignments and made the graphics for them too.  Now, I have things more organized and I can actually DO the assignments with you all and not have to get rushed to put the assignment up and then try to do my assignment too.

I was wondering tonight (Wed. March 26th) when the last time was that I laughed so hard my cheeks ached and my stomach hurt.  This week I thought it would be fun to share one or two short experiences with everyone about one of those times in your lives.  Tell a story or two about the last BIG laugh you had with your hubby or whole family.  The don't mean a little ha ha laugh...I'm talking about cheek hurtin', gut wrenchin',snortin' out loud, almost wet my pants laughing moments!!!  This can be a recent story or one from your childhood.  We all want to laugh with you and enjoy these funny moments!  Have fun and you can add pictures if you have any.  Don't forget:  Add your favorite verse for this assignment.

My funny moment was from my childhood.  *Note:  I DO NOT CONDONE DRINKING*

I was about 12 or 13 years old and we were just taken from my mom and were living with my aunt and uncle.  Well we were allowed to go over there on the weekends so I did that weekend.  Well it was a Friday night (and my mom and step-dad drank) and I didnt feel very good so I went to bed fairly early.  Well the last thing that i heard before I went to sleep was that they were going to make some kool-aid.  Well they used to make this mixed alcohol drink called lifesavors.  Well I got up sometime in the middle of the night and my brothers, sister, mom, and step-dad had already went to bed.  Well I was thirsty (well you can see where this is going)  I looked in the refridgerator and there was this gallon of  what i thought was red "kool-aid" and I drank the whole gallon.  I thought it tasted weird but i was like ok Im thirsty anyway because I was a normal kid/teenager I didnt want to drink water so I drank the whole gallon of lifesavors.  then I went to bed got up that afternoon and my mom and step-dad was wondering what had happened to the lifesavors-which i still thought was kool-aid and they told me what it was.  It was funny.

Mar. 30, 2008 - Open Devotion

I'm calling this one "Open Devotion" because I'm going to tell yall what my favorite Bible verse and why and yall are welcome and encouraged to share yours as well.

My favorite Bible verse is Proverbs 17:22: "A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones;"
I love this verse because it reminds me that I need to smile and be happy. Because I AM a child of the King. He gave me a reason to be happy. Im going to share a little bit about myself. My past wasnt so good. Ive had things done to me that you would pray that would never happen to your children. But Im not angry and its mostly because God gave me this verse to be a constant reminder to me. Im not going to lie and say that I dont struggle with mild depression (of some sort-the blues more like) and I do get down. Or that I dont have unhappy moments in my life. But I started digging into God's Word then when I was 8 years old and that's when the good and gracious Lord gave me this verse. I took it upon myself to memorize this verse. It has helped so much. No matter what Ive been through or what Im going through or what I will go through in the future God is there and He tells me that not only is ok to smile but I need to. It is good for me and it is the best medicine to have. If I stay with God and have a relationship with Him then He will give me the true joy that I need and what better medicine is that? Well I hope that this was a blessing to yall and I pray that yall take up a verse that will help you and encourage you if yall dont have one already. Well I pray that yall have a blessed day.

P.S. If anyone has questions or anything about my whole testimony from my past to present then feel free to ask. If I am able to be a blessing to you or to others by something that I cant go back and change then I would love to share. God bless yall.

Mar. 27, 2008 - Much Better

I am feeling much better now.  Thank you all for your prayers.  The problems that needed fixing are fixed, and Im digging more into the Word of God than I ever have before.  that has helped so much.  Im not resting really well but my attitude is improving.

I must ask that yall would please pray for my hubby, 10 month old son (today), and me.  We have been allowing our son to sleep in bed with us.  Well we are now trying to get him sleeping in his own bed now.  Anyway we did good the 1st 2 nights then we got really laxed.  So please pray that he will sleep in his bed better and that we as parents wont be too laxed on it.  We really need him to start sleeping in his bed because when the other baby gets here it will just be way too hard.  thank you and God bless

Mar. 19, 2008 - Down In the Dumps

Well lately I have been feelin down in the dumps.  I feel as if Im being rejected when others are around (i wont go into detail because I dont want to hurt anyones feelings).  I probably know that its not really true and that its just my hormones from being pregnant taking a toll on me.  I dont feel very "beautiful"  and like Im being used for others' purposes.  Its sad I know.  I really need prayer right now.  I dont like feeling this way but it happens everytime a couple "things" (like I said I cant go into detail) happens.  My husband tries to help and make me smile and listens to me.  It helps a lot.  But when he's at work things happen again.  I get so aggravated but Im too nice to say anything and I let people walk al over me and treat me bad. Please pray for me.  I really need it now.

On a brighter note.  My son is doing great.  He can stand up for up to 2 minutes at a time without holding on to anything and he gets so proud of himself and loses his balance.  HE claps for himself and everything.  Its so cute.  Im telling yall it is such a joy having him.  Next thursday he will be 10 months old.  It hardly seems like it.  But he is growing up so fast and learning lots of new things.  I just love him so much and I thank God that HE gave him to me and my wonderful hubby.  He is such a joy to have.  Well I better get off of here for now.  PLease pray and thank you for letting me share a piece of my heart on here.

God bless,

JENNY
