Joy in the Journey

And The Phone Rings Again

You know when your phone rings and it is later than you normally receive calls?  It makes you a jump a little when the phone rings and you are impatiently waiting for the caller id to tell you who it is.  Then your husband answers and you're waiting for a clue in the conversation as to who is calling.  Then you hear it.  "So what hospital is she in?"  was my clue.  It was my SIL calling to say that my dear MIL had a heart attack.  It really bothers us that she lives across the country, by herself, away from all of her DC.  And it bothers me that she had the heart attack alone, called 911 alone, and waited for the ambulance alone.  All of my family is within a days drive.  Most of my family is 1-5 hours away.  She is 30 hours of driving away. And I miss her.  I don't think she intends on leaving her home to move in with a child.  So what do we do?  I dread all the late night phone calls to come. And my poor DH is a wreck.  He is very close to his mom.  If you think of it, pray for her.  And for us as we try to help in what ever way she wants us to.

Blessings!!

How is your mother-in-law doing? I haven't read blogs in a while and didn't know about this when I saw you last week. I will pray!

How is your MIL? I hope things are well. Did you get to go see her or talk to her about being closer??

We are moving back West to be near our parents. It is a hard thing, and we have been considering it for several years, but I miss them too much! And, let's face it, none of us are getting any younger, right?

I hope things turned out well and she is recovering...

So sorry to read this entry. We know about the dreaded calls here, too. Most of our family is close to us, but it sure doesn't make it any easier. I hope this will go well.

About Me

Hi, I'm Jen. I'm married to Glen and have three wonderful children. I've been homeschooling for seven years and will continue as long as God allows. I have been inspired to find Joy in the Journey by the faithful, Godly women in my life. Zephaniah 3:17 The Lord your God is with you, He is mighty to save. He take great delight in you, He will quiet you with His love, and rejoice over you with singing.
