Here is a recipe for yummy, healthy, easy granola bars:
1/2 cup brown sugar or sucanat (I omit this. It's sweet enough without it for me.)
2/3 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup honey or agave nectar
1/3 cup butter (I use 1/2 cup butter when I add an optional ingredient.)
2 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 cup quick cooking rolled oats
1 1/2 cup brown crisp rice cereal
1 cup mini semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup wheat germ
1/2 cup shelled sunflower seeds
Optional ingredients:
1 cup raisins
1/2 cup coconut
2 TBS sesame seeds
Grease 13x9x2 inch baking pan and set aside
Combine: brown sugar, peanut butter, honey, butter, and vanilla set aside
In another bowl combine oats, cereal, rest of the ingredients. Stir and add in peanut
butter mixture. Press evenly into prepared pan.
Bake at 350 for 18-25 minutes. Cool.
