Joy in the Journey

Ever Have One of Those Days?

Well, I had one of THOSE days today!  I woke to the two boys fighting.  The toilet wouldn't flush properly.  I got the phone call I waited all morning for as soon as I got in the shower.  Then the phone call took longer than I thought and my hair dried funny.  Ds 3 whined about everything.  My husband was going to have the time to do some outside chores for me and it started raining.  I was supposed to use this afternoon to study and I forgot the book I needed.  I wound up with a headache this evening when I was supposed to go to a cookout.  I went anyway and I'm glad I did.  A few minutes with a good friend puts all else into perspective.  I know she's praying for my sinful attitude and I love her for it.

Tomorrow we're discussing Chapter 4 of The Heart of Anger in my small group.  It's been very interesting thus far.  The main thrust of this chapter is that the first rule for disciplining children is to have more discipline than the children.  This I need work on in a few areas.

I've decided I need a few new cookbooks.  I need recipes with natural, healthy ingredients and not a million ingredients.  Anybody have a suggestion?

Even if you aren't a vegetarian (as I am not), this book has some great easy and quick recipes, and you could probably add chicken or beef if you wanted to. (Many of her recipes have milk or cheese in them.) The best thing about it? It only requires 5 ingredients! She has a lot of other great helps as well. I bought mine at Borders. The book: "The Vegetarian 5- Ingredient Gourmet" by Nava Atlas. Happy cooking!

About Me

Hi, I'm Jen. I'm married to Glen and have three wonderful children. I've been homeschooling for seven years and will continue as long as God allows. I have been inspired to find Joy in the Journey by the faithful, Godly women in my life. Zephaniah 3:17 The Lord your God is with you, He is mighty to save. He take great delight in you, He will quiet you with His love, and rejoice over you with singing.
