Erica's Ramblin'
• Saturday, June 28, 2008 - Rachael Kligmann
I really don’t know how many people are still reading my blog, but I had to post about this anyway. I copy/pasted this from here.
Rachael was riding her bike with her sister, Amanda, on Wednesday evening. As they came around the corner in the neighborhood a car hit her on her bike. We feel it was an accident. The residential intersection had a blocked view. Rachael didn’t hit her head but has a severe brain injury. The doctors described it as similar to shaken baby syndrome. Her brain has injuries throughout her brain stem and thalamus. The doctors are working on keeping her brain pressures stable and have put both a pressure monitor and a drain tube to keep her cerebral spinal fluid draining. It was helpful to reduce her pressures early this morning. This afternoon she was able to move both sides of her body. Her left side is less than her right. Her left eye shows more damage, which they don’t know if it’s due to brain or ocular nerve damage. She still is in a life-threatening condition but things are a bit better today than last night.
I don’t know when this specific paragraph was last updated, but they are keeping up with the ‘journal’ thing-ga-moe here. Please pray for them!!!

Oh, thank you for the comment! :-D
I used to read constantly, but in the past 6 months or so, I only read occasionally. I still love reading, but as I get older I have more responsibilities, and I would rather be with my family than off in my own little world. :-) But, the Anne of Green Gables books are really good, even if Anne is... erm..... overly dramatic at times. *grin*
Oh, yes, the BBC version of Pride and Prejudice is amazing! I've seen that twice, and love it. Have you seen the new version, with Keira Knightley? I thought it was a lot different in the details.
I saw an old Wuthering Heights movie once, and didn't really care for it. Howevewr, I listened to the book on tape and actually liked the real story, so I thought I should attempt to read it!
Goodness, all I've talked about is movies! Trust me, I really don't watch that much TV. :-)
Oh wow, that would be really rough to have my Daddy working 6 days a week.... I hope your Dad gets time off after this job ends! My Daddy is going to have a new schedule for the next two months starting on Monday; he'll be working from 3 PM to midnight. Not fun.
Oh my! That's so awful!!! I'll definitely be praying for Rachael and her family!! My uncle is in the hospital right now in a coma due to brain injuries. He moves his hands and feet, so we're praying that his body is healing fully, and that he'll wake up just fine.
Blessings & Hugs,
Becca
