Hello!

I can’t believe that the term is already started here!  Actually, I can, but you know what I mean!  This was the school’s first day today; although the kindy doesn’t start until next Monday.  For today, I wanted to post about my school programs/commitments/life.

Subjects:

Math – Gamma, Math-U-See

Writing – Institute for Writing in Excellence

Character Building – Character First!  (Done as a family)

Bible – various tools, including Grapevines (done as a family)

Blogging – Homeschoolblogger.com! 

Piano – a) Music Tree and b) John Thompson’s (with a teacher)

Computer Skills – learning experience from HSB!

History – various tools, which includes Drive Thru History DVD’s, Diana Waring Audios, Learning Through History Magazine and a book with the title ‘Ancient Rome’ ­– oh yes, let’s not forget all of the many novels yet to read! (please note: History is done of free will and independently)

Science - Science through the Ages

Australian History – several programs (done as a family)

Books – I have several categories when reading a book – they’ll either go under: History,    Science, Christian Reading, Literature, Good Books, Recreational, Other

Notebooking – yes, after I read a book (most of them anyway) I have to notebook it!

Commitments:

Thursday: Mainly Music (this takes up the whole morning)

                  Piano Lesson (taking 30 minutes)

                  Keepers – a life-skill –building time with my friends, mostly taught by Mum

Friday:      Second Friday of the month is normally a homeschool co-op

Saturday:  Sometimes it’s on a Saturday though – Fridays or Saturdays are, every six   weeks, the     time for Josh and I to have braces tightened! :/ 

       For term two and three, there is also Cricket for the boys

Sunday:     Church

Life:

Don’t forget cleaning!  Mondays are our ‘bedroom bless’ days, and Saturday afternoons are a ‘deeper’ clean.

I’m also experiencing a few lessons in cooking at the moment.
