Tuesday, March 4, 2008 ~ Ouch - I seriously bumped my head |
I’ve had several attempts at writing this, and none of it has worked. The best sentence I could come up with was “Drastic amounts of blood poured from my wound onto my face, although I didn’t know it to begin with” So, I’m going to tell you what I’ve told all of the nurses, doctors, and basically everyone who asks, ‘what’s happened to you?’
I was Jet Skiing on Sunday afternoon with my Auntie and Uncle, some of their friends, and Joshua. I had been knee boarding for ages and ages behind the Jet Ski, when I flipped, and I bang my head on the knee board, causing a huge gash above my left eyebrow, about 4 cm long. My Auntie drove me to the emergency hospital, where Mum and Grandad met us. After three hours of waiting, the doctor called us in, and I had ten, small stitches (the doctor spells it a different way, but I don’t know how). I’d really appreciate your prayers for the next few days.
More news – we leave Melbourne on Saturday! Daniel’s program finishes today, although he has another optometrist appointment tomorrow afternoon and the assessment is Saturday morning. I really feel that God had blessed this trip, in that there is an improvement in Daniel somehow – I can’t quite put my finger on it, but there is some improvement with something! I haven’t done as much schoolwork as I would have liked (sorry Dad) but I’ve done a lot – having hurt my head I get an excuse to have a break :( :) (I enjoy my schoolwork, but it means I have an extra excuse not to feel bad that I’m not doing schoolwork when I get back!)

Caleb will be going for a check-up tomorrow morning, and he is up and about.
My ear is much better. The infection is gone I think. I will be praying that your ear heals quickly. :)
