If you’re house is anything like ours, you’re probably starting to get serious about Christmas.Such as listening to the same Christmas CD every single day or put up your Christmas decorations. The Christmas music has been going loud at our house! Not only have we been listening to Colin Buchanan’sel-wacko and yet totally true Christmas CD King of Christmas, we have found another amazing CD, Snow, by Go Fish. Our favourite song in the CD is It’s Called Christmas With a Capital ‘C’.Upbeat and fast, it talks about Christmas being Christmas, and not anything else.
It’s called Christmas
What more can I say?
It’s about the birth of Christ and you can’t take that away [bold mine]
You can call it something else
But that’s not what it will be
It’s called Christmas with a capital ‘C’!
I know lots of people don’t celebrate Christmas because there’s pagan roots attached to it.But I don't know anything about pagan roots and Christmas, to be honest.ButGod is after our heart, and if we want to celebrate Jesus’ birthday with that being the focus of Christmas, even if God never commands us to do it… why not?You don’t have to ‘do’ Santa and candy canes and Christmas trees to celebrate Jesus’ birthday. As Christians, we celebrate Christmas because Jesus was born, and that is a fact.Jesus became human. But that’s not all.Christmas isn’t all about Jesus’ birthday and snow and family and presents. It’s About the Cross.
Chorus 2:
It’s about the cross
It’s about my sin
It’s about how Jesus came to be born once so that we could be born again
It’s about God’s love led to a tree
It’s about how every drop of blood that flowed from him when it should’ve been me
It’s about the stone that was rolled away
So that you and I could have real life some day…
It’s about the cross
As a Christian, that’s why Christmas is so important. Jesus was born and died for me.Over the last couple of years, I’ve had to do a bit of a heart check. Am I excited about the true meaning of Christmas, or is it just all the presents? This year, presents don’t seem to be as big a deal as they have been other years (though I am curious!).He is my reason to live.Jesus is my best friend, and I’m holding a birthday party this year for him… in my heart.
Great post Jessica, I would love to join your party and obviously will be their in spirit.
I am hoping that I will be back home in time to have my own little celebration with my family.

Hi Jess,
Great post!
About my blog, I had absolutely no idea it did that, but I checked and it only does it on IE. if you view it in firefox it comes out fine except for the one entry about Joseph where the words go into infinity but the pink thing doesn't.
I usually do my goals list on new years too, but I wanted to have everything already written so I could start new years! :)
HUGS and LOVE

Hey Jessica,
I can't get over this feeling that if we met we'd be good friends. I was homeschooled kindergarten through 6th grade and finished my 7th grade year in public school.
Of the books and movies you talked about, I've seen/read and loved so many!
MOVIES
Facing the Giants- very inspiring and sweet story
Little Women- I don't know what version you watched but I loved the one I saw
Anne of Green Gables- again a very sweet and family friendly movie
Flywheel- recently given to my dad, never seen it
Amazing Grace- all the other kids say it was boring, but I LOVED it.
BOOKS
The Cooper Kids- How much better can it get? Made the my top 3 favorite series list (along with The Chronicles of Narnia and Passport to Danger)
Alice'a Adventures in Wonderland- Read it because it was a classic. My opinion...I had better things to do with my time.
Midwife's Apprentice- Read it but not sure if I liked it.
Door Within Trilogy- I've heard about it. Is it good.
Dawn Treader- I've already voiced my opinion on Narnia (extremely disappointed in the 2nd movie though)
Do Hard Things- Now honestly, does it get any more inspiring than that? I haven't led any revolutions yet, but I'm looking for a start.
Heidi- Another sweet story
Around the World in 80 days- Never read but would like to. I read Jules Verne's book Journey to the Center of the Earth
Robinson Crusoe- A hard read, but a good book
The Bronze Bow- One of my favorites! I recommend it to anyone!
Adam of the Road- A book I sincerely enjoyed, mainly because I'm in to midieval times.
Carry On, Mr. Bowditch- Great book about an exceptional young man.
Anne of Green Gable's Series- read the first one, couldn't get into the second one. I'll try again, though.
Little House on the Prairie- Loved all of them except The Long Winter

Because of Jesus' death and resurrection, we can choose to live life, flying the banner of love and flag of joy …so have a wonderfully fantazgreat day!
As I have moved in the blog-o-world, you can find me at JessicaLetchford.wordpress.com where I write about God, crafts, my life and organizing! Hope to see you there and God bless!
This blog is for me to share the things I have been learning, the photos we’ve been snapping, and character sketches as I learn more about living for the glory of God.
"A truly good book teaches me better than to read it. I must soon lay it down, and commence living on its hint. What I began by reading, I must finish by acting."— Henry David Thoreau
