Mar. 5, 2006 - It's A FINE Day......Update
Good Morning!!
It's Sunday and Im looking forward to being in the house of the Lord!!
I have my Sunday school class this morning and I just love all my kids!
Im sorry it's been awhile since I posted, I have been under the weather for along time. I went to the doctor 3 weeks ago for my sinuses, and I knew I had a sinus infection but the doctor said I didn't.......so needless to say 3 weeks of suffering those awful headaches I drug myself back in, and made an appointment to see a DIFFERENT
Doctor! He confirmed I do have a sinus infection . UGH ...the thing thats frustrating is our insurance is horrible so every time I go in it almost cost a fortune$$$$!! But I have to look on thr BRIGHT side.....
Now i have antibiotics so I should be feeling better soon!!!
I missed a fun day up in the snow with my family yesterday
cause I had to stay and do to the Dr. But they had a great time with their daddy!! Dh has his Bronco all finished and so they took it, and the kids thinks its the coolest lol.
I worked hard getting some church things done (Sunday School Bulitan Board & Our Church scrapbook & Some visitation stuff ). So today I need to go a little early so I can decorate my Sunday school room for SPRING
yae!!
I am a little nervous because dh has been thinking about taking a different job that does not have any medical coverage and pays less
. Im trying really hard just to let him lead and not get in the way of his descision, however I am really thinking it would be a bad move. But on the other hand he is so unhappy where he is at and this would be a NEW start for him. He wouldn't be mechanicing any more. I made him an appointment to go in for his hands (I think he has carpultunnel (sp?) We will see how that goes.
We will be going to my MIL's for a couple days this week
I enjoy going to visit. She has a birthday on Tuesday as well.
The kids love visiting because they live on a farm. Blake has his miniture pony there (Bam-Bam)
Well I guess I'd better go and get ready for church! Hope you all have a BLESSED Sunday!!
Hugs,
Brandie

Feb. 22, 2006 - A Mothers Prayer
Dear Lord, it's such a hectic day, With little time to stop and pray,
For Life's been anything but calm, Since You called me to be a mom -
Running errands, matching socks, Building dreams with matching blocks,
Cooking, cleaning and finding shoes And other stuff that children lose,
Fitting lids on bottled bugs, Wiping tears and giving hugs,
A stack of last week's mail to read - So where's the quiet time I need?
Yet, when I steal a moment, Lord, Just at the sink or ironing board,
To ask the blessings of Your grace,i see then, in my small one's face, That You have blessed me all the while-
And I stoop to kiss... That precious smile.

Feb. 21, 2006 - Our Day Today
School has been going well. Austen is doing good. he wanted Monday off like the rest of his friends so he got his work done Sunday night. Monday we just relaxed and I got some spring cleaning done.
Then he wanted a friend to stay the night (who didn't have school today). So I said that would be fine. To much of my surprise he was up before I was getting his work done
!! Then he took it with us and while i was at the doctor he finished his lessons. I was like WOW!!
Friday is our monthly activity at the hoppin houses, so the kids are really looking forward to that. Well its off to get dinner on...blessings my friends!

Feb. 21, 2006 - Frustrated
I have been dealing with some sinus problems lately and I have been getting really bad headaches
. So I finally went to the Dr. today. He said I had nothing but a virus and that antibiotics would not help.......so he gave me some decongestant to take. Last night it was so bad I took excedrin migraine and then a vicodin, I was just miserable. I took the medicine he gave me, and it doesn't seem to help, Im wondering if it may just take some time.

Feb. 16, 2006 - Cold Day!
It's a beautiful day, clear blue sky but absolutely freezing out side!!! We are suppose to have a huge cold front hit later this afternoon. Austen stayed with grandma last night and conviently forgot his school work
. So he will be doing it this afternoon when he comes home. I am going to meet him and grams for lunch at Izzys today
.
I didn't sleep well last night our dog and cats kept waking me up wanting outside and then back in again
I was up from 3-5.....I do not do well with a lack of sleep, just don't function well so hopefully I will be able to get a little nap in this afternoon.
Well it's off to get things done. Hope you all have a blessed day today!!

Feb. 16, 2006 - Kids devotion
Pray For What?
Today was a bad day. Yoshi got into a big fight with the group he is working with on a social studies project. They have been working together on the big project for the past three weeks. Yoshi had a really good idea about how to present the information they have collected, but the other kids in the group thought it would mean too much work. One kid even called Yoshi a stuck-up bully!
Tonight as he and his dad are saying prayers, Yoshi tells his dad about what happened with his social studies group. After hearing the whole story, Yoshi’s dad suggests that they pray about the situation. That sounds like good advice to Yoshi, but what should he pray for? What do you think Yoshi should say?
Should Yoshi...
1. Pray that God gives him wisdom to know how to best help the group?
2. Pray that the teacher would move him to another group?
3. Pray that the other kids would wise up and listen to him?
Read 2 Chronicles 1:11-12 for an example of the right things to pray for from God.
Think of a situation you are experiencing now. Write down or say a prayer in which you ask God for wisdom. He will help you think of ways to put Him first in this situation.

I need to get caught up on grading, I have fallen a bit behind. But the good thing is with this curriculum it's not to hard to keep track of :) I still have not got Austen's math book in ::::ugh::: I was hoping to get it yesterday in the mail. So for now he is working on misc. stuff.
Exited !!!because the weather is beautiful oh I feel spring in the air

Feb. 6, 2006 - Our day 'Monday'
I made it through the home-school day!!! It was a good day. Austen finished his work with no problems at all. Praying that last weeks 'training' helped. We have some catching up to do. He needed some help on English today but he did the rest on his own. I am still waiting on 'math' curriculum to come in.
Blake was a good boy while Austen schooled
Bless his little heart. I knew going into this year that it would be difficult, but its working yae! He is really interested in going potty now and wants to have his diaper off all the time :::ugh::: but at least he is interested now.
Welp off to some some laundry......
Blessings my friend

Feb. 3, 2006 - Computer Tip
Deciding what to block
Q. When you use a firewall, how do you know which programs should access the Internet? Is there a master listing of such files?
A. This has been a chronic complaint of people who use firewalls. You receive a message from the firewall saying that a file is trying to access the Internet. The firewall asks if it should be permitted through. Who knows? The problem is that the file names often make no sense. And in the past, firewalls often offered no more information. We're talking about firewalls such as ZoneAlarm. These programs alert you when a file tries to access the Internet. This is not an issue with the firewall in Windows XP. It does not block outbound programs. So let's get the easy stuff out of the way first. If you have a program that needs to access the Internet, it will pop up in a firewall alert. Anti-virus programs fall into this category, as do any other programs that have to be updated regularly. The same is true for e-mail programs and Internet browsers. In those cases, the file names may be clear enough to let the file pass. If you want your e-mail, and Microsoft Outlook is asking for access to the Internet, what do you do? Let it through, of course! How else can you download the e-mail? If you feel comfortable with the file name, check the box to always permit the file to pass. Files from companies such as Microsoft, Adobe, Panda, McAfee, Symantec and other well-known names are OK. But I'm telling you the obvious, aren't I? It's the files with clueless names that are the problem. They're a little harder, but you can get the information you need on them, too. Sometimes firewalls themselves will fill you in. ZoneAlarm, for instance, offers information when it issues an alert. Often, it will explain the origin of the file and what it does. All you need to know is that it is from a reputable program. If it is, let it through. Occasionally, there is no information available from the firewall. In that case, turn to the Internet. Enter the file name at a search site such as Google (http://www.google.com/). You'll probably get some information back. Again, you don't need to know what the file does. It's enough to know that it is part of a reputable program. You also can check at LiUtilities.com. This site lists many, many processes. You may well find the file name you're seeking. LiUtilities will tell you if it is a virus or spyware. You'll find this information at: http://www.liutilities.com/products/wintaskspro/processlibrary/

Feb. 2, 2006 - An exausting week
God is working I am thankful but Oh boy it has been difficult. He has been showing me so much, I am overwhelmed and exausted
Growing pains .
That is why I really have not wrote much in my blog lately...I have so much to add on here I have some great links to add but at the moment my sole attention needs to be on my family. There is such a huge part of me that wants to give up..........but I know it can get better if I face it and go through it and not around it.......I have did that for many years now and its time to get a grip and buck up and face these issues head on with God's power and grace
!!!
See you again soon
Hugs

Jan. 30, 2006 - Monday~One of those days,,,,,,,,,,,
Been one of those days today.
It is really a struggle most of the time to home-school Austen. I think we have more bad days then good ones
. I wonder how others do it with small children? Blake is 2 1/2 and he really is at a busy age. I know I need to hang in there and keep going, putting him back in public will not make things better. He is just such a strong willed child! He is VERY sweet but can be defiant and thats where things get tough. Praying tomorrow will be a better day
.
Off to clean up from dinner.......tootles
