Do you like this image of Jesus?
Here is an interesting article about the origins of this very popular image.
And then in going off on a tangent about it, I found another similar article.
This is my favorite piece that this artist created. As a young girl, this image was in stained glass in the church windows. I spent many hours staring at it. It is etched in my mind as an image peaceful communion with Jesus.

Very interesting article. I also grew up with those pictures in my Sunday School room as well as the one with Jesus praying on the rock.
In my son's co-op class they were doing the story of Elijah using pictures they got from ABeka - and you know - the pictures looked like they may have been done by the same artists. Now its got my interest piqued.

How interesting! The second one is my favorite, too. I think that my mother has this picture somewhere, it used to hang in my house when I was little. Or maybe it was my grandmother's....now I'll have to ask. :o)
