March 5, 2008 - Physics Fun with Noeo Science

I love literature based learning. But that doesn't mean that all we learn is solely from books. We do plenty of hands-on crafts, projects, and experiments. Here is a simple but fascinating science experiment from our Noeo Physics 1 curriculum (all supplies included!). It is showing how the energy is not lost but transfered through the three center coins that are glued down.

This mosaic shows the pages from a minibook we did about Isaac Newton's Laws of Motion. They seem so common sense that it's amazing that they had to be "discovered"! At least, that was Sprite's opinion on some of it.

For more about physics, see Physics Lapbook. I will be adding to it all year as we go through this curriculum. The link to this minibook PDF is there; just look for this same picture on that page.

That is such a cool experiment! I think that physics will have to be our science for next year...

Ugh! I shudder to hear Physics and Fun in the same sentence, but maybe if you'd been my teacher I wouldn't feel that way. ;)
