March 24, 2008 - Prayer of a Buddhist

We were riding the bus, and my sweet Sprite gave up her seat for this woman. When she sat down, she immediately pulled out her prayer beads. She fingered them until she got off the bus.

Her hands at work.

Buddhism is alive and well in "athiestic" China, especially among the poor and the old.

Seeing your bus seats makes me thankful for our plastic covered (always covered in plastic, you know) cushioned seats here in HKG. :)

Your little girl has such a loving spirit. I wonder if she's spiritually sensitive to the buddhist prayer beads?

(p.s. it makes me smile when people ask you if you're in China....haven't been reading long I gather.)
