July 5, 2008 - Our Fourth of July Meal
I really wanted some chicken soup, so I asked the waitress what they had. She offered a bitter melon chicken soup and another chicken soup with a vegetable I had not heard of. I chose the mystery soup, and this is what I got!

I love Peking Duck - guess it is Beijing Duck there now :) We haven't found a restaurant here that makes it. We did have some when we were in China.
Your soup looked really interesting. Happy Independence Day!
p.s. Hope you don't mind I copied your WP books on LibraryThing. :)

In England they call this 'Crispy duck pancakes'. (Very original huh?) I bought two 'kits' of this and it was the first meal I fed Dh when he got home from hospital. A BIG improvement on hospital food! LOL!

What a yummy looking dish and a nice looking restaurant.
Your search for an apartment is quite interesting. Things in the states are so much different.
