I can't imagine life without my three little ones! I surely never imagined I'd have three, but now can not even think of having just one of them. Beautiful kids!

Can women who are not citizens of China have more than one child? If so, do most abide by the one child policy anyway b/c of the crowded conditions? Just curious.

I just found your blog through "Little Cabin in the Woods" and wanted to stop by and say Hi :o) We are also a homeschooling family of one and are dreaming of one day picking up our baby girl from China....however with the increasing wait we still have a rather long way to go.
The twins are adorable! What a blessing!

August 22, 2008 - Stacy's question
Posted by Jimmie
No, the one child policy only applies to Chinese citizens. Foreigners living in China can have as many children as they want. And no, I'd say that most foreigners do not plan their family size because of it. I've never heard of people not having children because it's "crowded." Usually it's more of a financial consideration.

The thing I find strange about the one child policy is that there is a whole nation that cannot comprehend the concept of extended family- no brothers and sisters, no aunts and uncles, no cousins. That would be very strange, I think.
Those little girls are also blessed.

As a twin, I always love to read about and see pictures of other twins. Also, the children policy in China continues to fascinate me.

Hi Jimmie! I've not been by in awhile because when I changed computers, I lost my bookmarks. Somehow, I found you again.
Since I last read your blog, I've made the aquaintance of two Chinese families that live near me. Of one family, they have two sons, so I wonder if they ever plan to return to China, as they are now over their "limit". The other family has but one son.
I also know of some people that are planning to move to China soon. They say that in the area to which they are moving, there is no limit to the number of children because the people are an ethnic minority and are exempt. I forget the tribe or group to which they belong.
I'll check back again soon, but for now, I'm off to bed.
