One Child Policy Homeschool

August 15, 2008 - A Homeschool Tragedy

All is unpacked and we've been doing homeschool for three weeks now.

It's confirmed. Two things are lost:

The Handbook of Nature Study
and
our thrift store, hardback dictionary

Just how can we survive without these two volumes? I'm so upset.

I am sorry for your loss.

But, at least both things are found on the internet until they can be replaced.

The HONS can be found here:

I have been using my HONS more and more as time goes on so I know this is really a HS tragedy...esp if you mark your copy. I hope both volumes turn up.

Jimmie,

I have the Handbook to Nature Study and, if I'm real honest with myself, I am not going to use it. I would *love* to send it to you and Sprite.

You can PM me here (although I rarely check in) or at THSL if you want.

About both items! That truly is a tragedy when you are too far away to pop in and pick up another one! I only just got my HONS and it is already invaluable.

As for a dictionary, we have a children's one with pictures, but I still can't find a proper hard back one anywhere. I'll be hunting while we are stateside at Christmas if I don't find one before that. All the ones I can get here don't have the pronunciation part in them. They have dropped that bit out of English dictionaries for some strange reason - I hope that is still in the American ones!

I hope that both of your missing items turn up or can be replaced! (((HUGS)))

Oh I'm so sorry!

It's not the same, but here is an online link for the nature study book(if you can access it in China):

Oh no! I'm sure you use your Handbook of Nature Study so much more than I do. I'd loan you mine if I could.

What do you think happened to them? I hope they somehow turn up. I'd be so upset too. {{hugs}}
