September 16, 2008 - Box House
Sadly, her Chinese friends had never seen a box used as a playhouse. Hard to believe, but true. Once they understood, they loved it!
Sizing up the door.

Trying out the window.

Empty cardboard boxes are the best toys! How great that your daughter got to introduce the pleasure to her friends!
I love your new blog design! So fresh and fun!

I remember when my two oldest were younger (must have been around 7 and 4) and reclaimed a box. I told them that the box was for both of them and that they would decorate it together. My son, the seven year old, said to his younger sister, "Ok. We'll do this together. I'll paint and you say, 'Good job!'"
Have a great day!

I love the expressions on her face, especially in the ones where she's checking out the door and choosing the fabric. Quite the creative homemaker you have there! :-)

Oh my! They had never used a box to play in? Wow. How awesome that Sprite gets to share something so simple and new with them. I will have to find the picture of my kids playing in this huge ( 7ft) box fort. So much fun!

I "found" your blog after you made a comment on mine about my timeline. Anyway, I like your blog and will be a reader of it from now on!
Wow...I can't believe that Chinese children have never played house in a box! That's interesting. My children are very interested in China as they both are involved with Kung Fu. I can't wait to tell them about your comment!

We've had several superfun cardboard houses around here-- but NEVER thought to put up curtains! LOL The difference between boys and girls perhaps? ;-)
