I'm back!! Did ya miss me?? We lost power for about 23 hours (Saturday morning to Sunday morning)....it went off at about 9 in the morning. We shared our neighbor's generator to keep our fridge cool and we heated up taco meat on the grill.....hee hee!! We can get pretty creative when we have too!! We worked on a puzzle and played games most of the day as it was SO rainy and windy....but God got us through!! At one point I had to take my youngest to a Quick Care clinic as he had a raging fver and I was afraid he had strep (he was exposed to it a week ago)....doc said he was okay and to just treat the fever...today he's fine. Anyway, a neat thing happened yesterday. My normal Christian radio station out of Tyler, TX was off the air, and so I switched to another station that comes from a couple hours east of us. Well, they were playing all black gospel music, just praising and praising, which is not what they usually do, they usually play a mix of all kinds of stuff. Anyway, the dj started talking and said the station call letters and I had never heard of that station before!!! And the music ministered to me so much, just about praising God and trusting Him in the hard times. I was telling my Mom about it and wondering if perhaps it could be an angel radio station!!!!! It was pretty cool and exactly what I needed in the midst of that storm!! I did have several opportunities to talk to the kids about God through all of this. Friday night Daniel asked me if we were going to live through this and I said, "Yes, I think we will, but what's the worst that will happen if we don't?" He said, "We'll die." And I said, "Yep, and then we get to go to heaven to be with Jesus! So, if you get there first, hug Jesus, tell Rallye to be a good dog, and wait for me, I'll be there too, and if I die, I'll do the same for you, okay?" And that seemed to please him, he was fine after that. In the morning it was dark and windy and I was doing my quiet time and decided to read aloud to the kids from Job where God is asking Job who has seen the heavenly storehouses full of snow, and stuff like that (about weather and creation and such). They were amazed at that. Then later in the afternoon there was a huge, long, rolling thunder that made Alycia and I jump and so I thanked God for that great big thunder and she asked me why, because it was so scary, and I told her because God is letting us know that He is bigger than this storm and even bigger than that thunder! It was awesome! Really a very God filled day!!
PS. I was just talking to Mom and she asked about my "angel station". I turned the radio on and there was nothing but static.....God is SO good ALL the time!! Today is a gorgeous, sunny, blue-skied day!
