Well it was in the 80's and maybe up to low 90's today but still quite humid. Ugh!!
This morning we had a field trip to the local TV station (the abc affiliate). It was AWESOME! We had gone to a different TV station last year (which happened to be my preferred news channel) but this one was SO MUCH better and more interesting!! Daniel fell deeply and madly in love with the cameras, which are actually robots! They no longer have camera men in the studios but now have a "robotics engineer" that controls two or three cameras by remote. VERY cool!! Guess what Daniel wants to be when he grows up!! Alycia liked the cameras too, but what she'll tell you about them is that there were 3 named Dumb, Dumber, and Dumbest (yes, thank you so much Mr. Tour Guide!)....ah well!
Today's Alycia's birthday!
After that we came home and had lunch, then for Alycia's birthday I let her make some brownies (we're making cupcakes for choir tomorrow AND we're having a party this Saturday where she'll get her cake (a castle)--anyone want to come?) For dinner tonight Alycia also picked spaghetti and meatballs....yay! That's pretty quick and easy! I need to make some quick rolls to go with that too.

She is so excited to be 6!! She weighed herself this morning to see if being 6 makes you weigh more; she's asked what things she can do special now that she's 6; and she sat in my lap so we could read Ranger Rick together and said, "Am I hurting you Mom? Can you tell that I'm 6?" Hee hee!! What a goof! I'm almost finished with a pink sweater I'm making for her. I'll have to post pictures when I get it done. It's a hooded pullover of light pink shells and then I added a pink/red/white fluffy fun fur for trim. I just need to sew on another arm and the hood and it's done, so hopefully that will be finished tonight!
Well, that's the excitement here....oh wait, tomorrow is the annual homeschool egg drop. Yep, dropping eggs from the base flight tower (which is newer and taller than the old one). We're trying out new designs this year....Glenn got some bubble wrap (the big kind, like big pillows) so we'll wrap an egg in that and then we've got some smaller bubble wrap for the other egg. We'll see how it goes.....I'll try to get pictures of that too!
