Well, it's been busy around here this morning! I got towels hung out on the line, Daniel's sheets washed and dried, bed made (for the record, in the month that Glenn's been gone so far, I neglected to do this only once or maybe twice! Woohoo! It's habit now, along with opening the drapes!) dishes put away and dishwasher loaded again, counters cleaned off and wiped, table cleaned off and wiped, floors swept and I think that's about it (as I sat down at the computer and been going through emails). Oh, I did have a good quiet time this morning too. Yesterday I was at my friend's house doing a walking video and I noticed her One Year Bible. I thumbed through it and commented that I'd like to get one for myself. She promptly said that she would buy one for me and when I started to say no, she said, "This is something I do, buying Bibles for people. I have money set aside just for that." (How cool is that!?) So when I left, she went to run errands and was back at my house in less than 2 hours with a One Year Bible for me!!! I am so excited! So I started reading that this morning. I was going to start at today's date, but decided instead to just start at the beginning and read each day's reading regardless of the date (so I won't get messed up if I ever miss a day)
11 more days until Glenn comes home and 10 days until my Mom and Aunt come! Can't wait! This is also the week that we cannot call to talk to Glenn as he's out in the field (actually he's somewhere in Florida "out in the field") so last night the kids called and talked to my Dad for almost an hour. That seemed to help them a little.
I still have a few more things I'd like to get done before Glenn gets home. Here's my whole list. Red is what I still need to do:
- repair leaky shower faucet
- install new lighting in dining room
- buy a coffee table
- buy baskets to put under the coffee table
- put up pictures in the living room
- Buy or make a new tablecloth
- buy some kind of decorations to put on my sewing table in the living room (something easy to move around!)
- make bed daily
- clean off my dresser and nightstand
- clean off Glenn's dresser
- clean out the bottom of Alycia's closet
- clean off the patio
- get rid of truck
- get rid of fireplace and pipes
- make new drapes for Daniel's room
- clean off Alycia's dresser
- mop floors (to be done the Thursday before he gets home)
I think that's everything....along with, of course, the regular upkeep and tending to life around here. Oh, wait.....POTTY TRAIN DAVID!! (I am STILL thoroughly amazed that that's happened! He's not had a single accident in a week and a half!) I was hoping to have Daniel done with thumb sucking too, but that hasn't happened yet (I am not as consistent with taping up his thumb as I should be!) Also, have not lost the 10 pounds I had really hoped to.
