Well! Finally! Life is slowing down! Glenn came home last Friday (Feb. 17th) the same day that my Mom and Aunt flew down for a visit. Here's what I got accomplished before that huge (fun) influx:
- repair leaky shower faucet
- install new lighting in dining room
- buy a coffee table
- buy baskets to put under the coffee table
- put up pictures in the living room
- Buy or make a new tablecloth
- buy some kind of decorations to put on my sewing table in the living room (something easy to move around!)
- make bed daily
- clean off my dresser and nightstand
- clean off Glenn's dresser
- clean out the bottom of Alycia's closet
- clean off the patio
- get rid of truck
- get rid of fireplace and pipes
- make new drapes for Daniel's room
- clean off Alycia's dresser
- mop floors (to be done the Thursday before he gets home)
I did not get the floors mopped, but they were all pretty clean. My Mom and Aunt had not seen the remodel (well, Mom saw it right after deconstruction~~scary!~~ and Auntie Chris hadn't seen anything new done to the house at all when she visited 6 years ago) so they were VERY impressed. Mom kept saying it looked like Better Homes and Gardens. Woohooo!!!
Glenn liked all the stuff I did too. He said he was especially impressed that my friend and I had installed the dining room chandalier. Yes!!
So, now, the visitors have gone home and things are settling down. Glenn is now working at the chapel on base (has his own office and computer) and Friday WE GOT ORDERS!! (which means we're finally moving!!) We'll be heading off to Hill AFB in Ogden, UT in June. It is a bittersweet thing. We've been here 8 years and I am just not a Southern Gal, but we've found an awesome church and have had time to develop some pretty great friendships here. I'm especially concerned about our neighbor, Miss Marlene. She's 74 and we have gotten REALLY close in the last couple of years. I know she will be heartbroken when we leave. I help her out a lot as her sons are all far away and her sisters are elderly as well. I haven't told her yet as she's not been feeling well for the last few days (like not feeling well to the point of needing to make out her will and such!). So I'd appreciate prayers on her behalf! But other than that, I am so excited!!!! I'll be 5 hours from my youngest sister in Idaho and 7 hours from my other sister in California. There will be snow too, we're right near The Great Salt Lake and an awesome mountain range. Yes, I know it will be very cold and we'll have to acclimate, but.....THERE'S SNOW!!!!!!!
Anyway, guess that's about all the excitement one entry can hold!!! :)
