Oct. 9, 2006 - Elven Cloak and Time
Well, we went to the fabric store yesterday and bought some fabric for my Cloak. It's green, like a suede but not really. I also got some gold trim, knotted like, that I'm going to put around the sleeves, bottom, hood, and front. It's going to look beautiful. Well, since I am a Galadrim Elf, they do not wear green, for the Wood Evles wear Green, but I will make a wool grey cloak when I have money.
I think this is the Cloak I will be doing, Galadriels's:
2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
5 A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
6 A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
7 A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
8 A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.
9 What profit hath he that worketh in that wherein he laboureth?
10 I have seen the travail, which God hath given to the sons of men to be exercised in it.
11 He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.
There is also a time when I will finish my cloak and I have to wait for the right time. Before I start it I have to find a couple more shirts since I only own one I can "go out" in and 3 junkie shirts. I will hopefully find some good modest ones before long. I must own 10 before I can start on my cloak!
EDITED:
I added some things to my sidebar... including my Feedblitz, OnebLogToRuleThemAll and a LOTR poll... Check it out!

A grey woolen cloak would be lovely, but a green one would be positively enchanting! *sigh* You must collect 10 shirts and I must collect at least 10 hours of free time for such an accomplishment-- but I don't think my little ones will cooperate. But one day!
Have a great week!
Love,
Marsha

That is so cool you are going to make a cloak. I try and try and try but I just stink at the sewing machine. I am going to blame it on a cheap machine. Is that ok? lol seriously I cant fool anyone. I just need more practice and noone wants me to have time to do that :)

That will be a beautiful cloak! My daughter Eyebright made a cloak, it's blue with a white lining. I'll have to get her picture and have her put it on her blog.

Hi! Thanks for stopping by and commenting. I would like to make a cloak to. Maybe one like the fellowship wears. I don't know exactly how to make one, but if I could figure it out, that would be cool. I recently made an Elven dress that I am going to wear for Halloween. It is not a dress from the movies or anything, but it has the long flowy sleeves that seem to be the fashion in Middle Earth! : )

I don't get many visitors! Maybe if I knew more about blogging and could put fun stuff in it like yours :0)
I enjoyed reading your latest entry. I read some of your past entries too and had to laugh about the cloth diapers. I used cloth with both my babies. I had a diaper service for the first baby (what a luxury - it was a gift), so when it came time to do them myself it took a bit of an adjustment. Still, I'd do it again in a heartbeat. It's such a short season that they are in diapers...then it's gone forever! A weird thing to be sad about, but other mothers might understand. Anyway, I hope you have a great day! Keep seeking God's heart in all things!

On the costume. I dont do Halloween, but the idea sounds neat.
On bible entry. Thats so true! God has everything planned. From the minute we brush our teeth in the morning to the time we spend in the car. That really shows me how much god loves us. Out of the millions of PPL on earth God knows what I am going to do every secound...
Talk to you later!

Well, I'm back and I had a great time. WOW! You're making a coat. That's pretty neat (and I'm sure you'll look beautiful in it;-). I'm so sorry, I meant to tag you before I left and I forgot, I'll put it at the end of this note. I got your little chicken thing, it made me laugh, thanks for sending it to me. Well, here's your tag:
When was the last time you brushed your teeth? (I know that's weird question, Julia put it there to make me mad.)
What do your teeth usually look like?
What book do you like to read over and over?
How many times do you crack your neck?
Whats your favorite logo?
How many times have you been on an air plane?
What were you wearing this day last week?
When was the last time you ate peanut butter?
Do you like "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" with Jonny Depp?
What is your fav. Exercise?
Do you like this tag?
Ever considered living in a hobbit hole in new Zealand?
What are you obsessed with?
How many times a day do you check your email?
Finish this sentence ''they are taking the..."
Why did you answer it that way?
What is the first thing you think of in the morning?
What is your fav. Super hero besides Jesus?
go to the person who tagged you and leave them two different comments on two different posts. (I look forward to reading those;-)
Who do you like better: Jack Sparrow or Will Turner?
What are three of your future childrens names?
How would you describe yourself?
Pick a word you use most often.
Tag three people.
Luv ya!

first off, i HAVE to let you know i am REALLY thankful that you are willing to help me woth my bloggy thing. ok favorite charictores? i like quite a few! i really like Arogorn, Arwen, the 4 main Hobbits. but there is this part in the 1 LOTR that i like. it's when Arwen has Frodo on the houres and she is acrose the river from the Rathe (im don't know how to spell that) and she says "If you want him, come and clame him!" think that would be my favorite part of the movie, MRA i also like Galardiel and Ledolas. and i really like the sene where you get to see all of those Waterfalls in Rivendell. the font? um..... i want something the is LOTRish but anyone can still read it. i like the colors Green, Black, most of all the Evlish colors, greens and earth tones. you can just take whatever is possible LOL, and do what you do. I'm POSITIVE that what ever you make, im sure to like!!!!

Mαra aurλ Alatariel!
That bible virse is very good to follow. It shows us that we do not control the time that we do things. So with the house that we are building is being built in Gods time not ours.
I also realy like the cloak! i would love it if you could send me be e-mail that pattren you are using to make your cloak. You have all so given me an idea or two for my story. I will post more of it soon.
EoNenmacil of the Elfs in Gondor honors your wisdom.
