Thanks for stopping by!
Your grandparents look very happy--both then and now! It sounds and looks like they've had a wonderful life together.
I can understand the feeling when you don't get to see them much--my grandparents live almost four hours away on my mom's side, my grandmother on my dad's close to seven. We don't see either one much, but like you we do write and call a lot! I wish we could see them more. That's one of the reasons I love Christmas so much!
I love that your grandmother gave you a bracelet. My grandmother gave me a necklace that my grandfather gave her on their wedding anniversary one year. When I was about ten, she gave me the locket that I believe he gave her when they were engaged--I love having both pieces. They remind me so much of them...and it will be great to pass on if I have any daughters one day!

Dec. 8, 2006 - Picture and a Tag

Posted by Cornflower
My mom and I think this is a beautiful picture!

Here is a tag for you.

1. Name four things you would like to do sometime in your life.

2. Name four movies you would have liked to be in and which character would you have liked to play in each?

3. Name four places you would like to visit sometime in your life.

4. Name four silly things you have done in your life.

5. Name four of your very favorite foods.

6. Name four books you would have liked to be in and what characters would you have liked to be?

7. Name four things you do not like.

8. Name four people you would like to meet if you could.

9. Name four historical people you find interesting and share a question you would like to ask them if you could.

10. Name four animals you would like to have – they can be any kind!

I will post my answers on my blog soon. I can't wait to see your answers!

At getting that picture on the computer. Scanning old photos and so forth can be tricky.

Is it just me, or can you possibly resemble your great grandmother some what? That's the first thing I thought when I saw the 1941 picture...something about the eyes.

I know what it's like to live far away from relatives. We often times lived on the other side of the country (or the world!). Now we finally live in the same state as both sets of grandparents and just about 20 miles from my dad's grandparents (our great grandparents).

I hope you have a lovely Christmas. :)

GOD BLESS,

~Amanda~

Hello Jocelyn,
your Great Grandparents look very nice. She still has the same smile.
I thought your post was very timely considering that at this very moment I'm at my Grandparents house. I was just recently looking at pictures of when my Grandmother was a girl and I realized how much I resemble her.
Grandparents are wonderful,

Awww, they look like a precious couple! I never had grandparents very close, so I hardly know what it's like to have them. Both sets of mine live out of state and we hardly saw them once a year. I do write to my Paternal Grandmother.

That's a nice thing to do. I made a scrapbook for my deceased grandmother from pictures of her. It's amazing how many of our grandparents and great-grandparents are still together but only about 50% of today's parents are together. But I love to see elder couples together, celebrating 50 and 60th+ anniversaries : )! May God Bless you today

And thank you for your suggestion. "Abby" actually has talked to her mom, and her mom has refused to accept her apology, Most teens fight with their parents, but I believe her situation is a bit more advanced then most. Thanks again, that was exactly what I told her to do too. God Bless

Thank you very much for the compliment! And I was quite happy to find that you share most of my beliefs. It's very encouraging to have people of "kindred spirit" online!

By the way, I do enjoy seeing old family pictures. Maybe I'll post a few sometime. Well, thanks for the comment!

Oh my! That is such a beautiful picture of your grandparents! I also know how it is to be far away. All of mine grandparents are far away, yet very close, for they are in Heaven, I am sure, and I pray. I love them so much! They were such good examples. Most grandparnets are! What would we do without good grandparents? I only knew my grandma on my moms side and my grandpa on my dads side, and they were both Saints!!

I have not visited your blog in such a long time! Forgive me! I believe I had forgotten, I have so many friends on my list who have added me and I them, but I never got a chance to visit any of theirs once I got back onto Homeschool Blogger. My problem was e-mail and stuff and I lost my password, ect. Now I have it all, and I have been posting a lot of things recently.

I have enjoyed reading all your posts on this page immensely! Your family is so beautiful! I love your writing/posts. Please keep posting! And keep me in your prayers! I do not forget you, and I am totally serious and I mean it. I have not forgotten to pray for you, even though I hadn't visited your blog. Funny, I forgot about your blog, but have not forgot about you.

God Bless!

Sorry I haven't been by in a long time...I was afraid to come by for a long time because I thought going here would freeze up my computer. (it has before).

I like your pictures of your grandparents. Pretty neat!

Thanks for entering the "a-b-c animal game"!

How do you like our new layout? It will take some getting used to, but I like it!

Have a great night!
