Aug. 6, 2007 - I wonder as well

Posted by LadyRachel
Hi Jocelyn!
I like your new post. I too, wonder what kind of homeschooler I will be. I guess it's going to be a surprise from God. =) I also wonder which learning styles my children would benefit most. Oh well, I guess all I can do is wonder until then. Haha! And of course, pray for my future as a homeschool mom. I used to think that homeschooling would be over for me, as soon as I would graduate from homeschooling, but now that I think about it, it would only begin another homeschooling journey. (Which I think is pretty cool!)
God bless,
~Rachel~

I would have probably stopped blogging myself if you had left!!!!
That would have been HORRIBLE! I am so glad you aren't going to completely stop. HSB would not have been the same if you all had gone. *Sniff Sniff* Oh I'm so glad! *sighing with thankfulness*.

Have you ever heard of the publishing company called Lamp&Quill Devotional Studies? We all have our own devotionals. It is such a wonderful program!!
I am going to blog about it. today we did the 5th day. You are supposed to do one each weekday.
Come and see!

I was an Abraham Lincoln homeschooler. You have a Bible and a library card what more could you possibly need? You prefer the Charlotte Mason Method of reading living books for everything: historical fiction, biographies, real histories, nature guides, etc. No soon-to-be-outdated textbooks for you.

I'm a very bookish person...but you already knew that. ;-) I loved reading your post, as I always do, Jocelyn.

Godspeed,
Sylvia

First off, I'm so glad the post about you leaving was a joke! Second, I understand about math, I hate it! If I didn't have to take it I wouldn't,

Mr. Potato Head

You have your ideal of how things should look, but youre flexible enough to allow for change. You are not bothered by changing methods, mid-course if necessary. You use an eclectic combination of curriculum sources.

That's a neat entry you have put there. Saxon math is a math curriculum that I'm doing too. Romans 15:5 "5May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus,...." May the Lord bless you. Ttyl

You did scare me!!!!! But Like I said the thought crossed my mind that you weren't really leaving only cause you didn't say anything about leaving on your other blogs :) I'm sneaky!!!

I am so glad to have met you to. I had looked at you blog several months ago and I would keep looking back but in my 'random facts' about me I said I was afraid to leave comments on other people's blog's and so yeah I didn't leave a comment on your blog at first then i thought 'Well whatever I will'. Then I did,Now I am glad I did.

Yay! I feel so loved :))))) That is cool your middle name is Nicole!!! My bffe found out mine was and started calling me Nick. Now it just sticks with me! LOL! But that's okay I call her Ellie since her middle name is Elaine. I think I shall call you Joci, since everyone else does! Or maybe I shall call you Nick instead :D :D :D Kidding. I like Joci!

Love your friend,
Julia

Awww thanks! I love reading what you post, too. I also think it's fun to read about what you do on your homestead.

That quiz result sounds a lot like me, too. What's funny is all my talents are in the artistic side, I have nothing in the athletic side, which I guess is good, since I don't like sports. lol

Writing is awesome!!!

Yeah, I knew you weren't leaving. Eric Novak told me to go check out your blog and told me you really weren't leaving but he said to post a "bye" comment anyway.

I pulled one of those jokes off once too a while back. I think it was on an April 1st but everybody believed me.

Hi Jocelyn! This is L.L at your service. ;-)

Thanks for linking to the quiz! I am quite addicted to those kinds of things....I turned out to be an Abraham Lincoln which I know I typed wrong LOL. Lincolns use more the Charlotte Mason way and teaches through nature walks and books books and more books! I guess that describes me. I learn best by reading!

My family schools year round too! Isn't it so much more reasonable? We like to take a lot of time off during the rest of the year so it evens out nicely or gets us ahead.
God bless!

Hello!

Yes, of course I forgive you! I couldn't not forgive you, anyway! ;)

I figured out why you said no e-mail or pm after the fact. That was smart.

And take your time with the e-mail, I understand.

I hope you don't feel like I am rushing you about the template - I should be more patient. ;)

Awww...you're so sweet. Love ya, too!

Great post - I can completely relate. We all need to know a little practical math, but goodness - unless you're really a math whiz and like that sort of thing, why get burned out on it? I always laugh when I remember one Algebra D.I.V.E. lesson I did years ago when the instructor said, "You may never do another problem like this in your life, but you have learned organizational skills." Haha! I think I get a better dose of organizational skills in daily home life than out of a text book.

Anyway, I wanted to let you know that I haven't forgotten about the Blogging Reflection Award - with the awards I don't usually make a post with the people I've nominated, but it's probably a good idea to because you get to discuss the full value of it instead of just using it as a decorative banner.

I made my list of people to give it to, but boy, it's been going around so quickly that I think most everyone I thought of has already been awarded! Oh well...like you said, it doesn't matter if the person has already been awarded (though Eric prefers his BWAP award to only be given to those that haven't received it yet).

Well, I'm staying quite busy, but I'll try to check in as often as possible to not let my blog stuff slip.

Hi Joc, I'm back! You can read about where I was on my latest post. It was nice having a break from the comp, but I missed reading your blog too. :-)

I also like all things old fashioned, and I love watching movies set in previous time periods. The only bad thing is they make me wish I lived back then. I have to remind myself I'm here for a reason!

As for math, I don't like it much, but it's good exercise for the brain I guess.

Love,
Mandy

Hahaha! It really must be hard, then! :P

Oh no, you remembered the hat. I guess I'll have to put up a couple pics. :P I did take some a while back but never got around to putting them up.

BTW, your comments definitely don't bore me. I appreciate them greatly, actually.
