You can't tell by a blog... so I thought I would mention that I am short! I am 5 foot 2. But I prefer the more politically correct term... vertically challenged! JUST KIDDING!

Years ago there was a Christian song that said, "I'm only 4 foot 11, but I'm goin' to Heaven and it makes me feel 10 feet tall..."

At that time I WAS 4'11! LOL!

I really like some of those shirt logos you made up. :) I've thought up a few. I even had my own T-shirt store on CafePress, but it really wasn't my thing, plus I didn't get any sales. lol

I think it would be cool to have my own business of making layouts for sites, etc. But right now, my goal is set on writing and publishing my book, so I don't really think of anything else.

I have a store online I have a link on my blog, I go to craft fairs with my Mom and sell my stuff there with her stuff.

That's a really good post. I'm not really doing anything, except some writing.
About the T-shirt ideas....
Me and my Bible Bowl team were studying Acts last year, and we found this verse in Acts for that we thought applied to homeschoolers. It was in Acts 4: ...'They were unschooled, ordinary men...' Since homeschooling is also called unschooling... Ha, ha...even though it could be called cheesy.

Hey, those are some neat t-shirt designs!

Are you actually going to meet Eric?? Wow!! Seems like y'all have been able to meet just about everyone on here--LOL. I can't wait to hear about it.

Have a blessed day!

You're short?? By who's standards? I'm around 5'2 or 5'3...of course, if I had a choice between being tall or being short, I would choose shortness. I'm less noticeable that way. ;-)

I don't have a business; the only thing I sell is 30-min piano lessons...

Those are funny Tshirts!

Well, other than working for my parent's used book business, I am planning to start my own modest swimwear business for now. In a year (or when I've saved enough) I will start taking an online midwifery course. I can do those things at home with kids.

There was a shirt I saw once that said 'Don't let your mind go awandering.....' on the front, and on the back it said 'cause it's to little to be out by itself'

I thought it was hilarious!!! Or maybe it was just something someone said and I think It was on a shirt.. Well,it would make a good shirt logo. :)

The stuff about Highschool Musical is driving me insane!!!! It's everywhere I go!! and the first movie was so cheesy.. It's sooo annoying.. :P

Thanks for the links! I am always amazed at the number of businesses homeschool teens are able to come up with. I was just talking with Paul about this, and he said "how many other teens do you know who has four sites?" I couldn't say any! I think I need to start making some money now ;)

I should let Kelsey comment on this one herself but she's in bed and we start school pretty early around here, so she doesn't have time in the morning to get online. She and her best friend are starting their own soap-candle business. They have big goals to attain! Yes, they really do, they are such big planners...and so excited!

Well, there's nothing wrong with being short. Thutmose III was only five feet tall; you are probably taller than him, right? (Though at 5.5 I think I would be taller than both of you!

I am so glad that you will not be leaving blogging. I enjoy reading your blog. I have my daughter stop in and read it too. You are such a good example to so many young ladies. This is a ministry because you have touched many hearts and influenced many people, I am sure.
Thank you for staying. I also am very old fashioned. I will have to try that quiz.

Aug. 13, 2007 - I've got a few ideas...

Posted by Eyebright
I don't have an idea set in stone, but I would love to be an author (one that people know about!), I think it would be fun to look into professional photography, I love to travel, I can crochet, knit, and am learning how to sew.

Lots of people throw ideas out to me, but most of them just don't click. Maybe I'll start a yarn shop someday.

Yes, the cool thing about wanting to write is you can do pretty much anything else as well, and a lot of times you have to to get subject matter. That includes being a stay at home, homeschooling mother!

I'm glad you liked that post. I think you're from Indiana right? I am going to send you the one that I found that is for Indiana via PM and you can change it and add to it as you wish (that's what I did to the Georgia one).

Loved the t-shirt logos and sayings. :-)

Aug. 13, 2007 - Note from Brielle

Hello Jocelyn,
I loved the post...it was fun to read...great idea on the shirts...I really liked "I'm a Hobbit, who's an Elf-wannebe" that was cute....only I'm not very hobbitish...,but I like the shirt. I need an elf one...:) Oh, the Jane Austen one was great too...you should get some made like that.

Thank you for talking about my little costume business .....it's been fun to do. I did get news about what the next play will be....but I'm supposed to keep it underwraps just in case any of the actors are reading my blog....,but lets just say I'll be able to get very creative with the costumes and buy a cool sword...to let one of the actors use :)

So anyway I'm trying to finish up my corset today...so I best get back to sewing. Oh and I'm sure you could guess what I'm watching while I sew...lol...but what's a girl to do? LOTR is the best movie out there. :)

Talk to you later,
Brielle

I love your T-shirt ideas! Unfortunately, some of them wouldn't fit on a 5'7" me. Bother!

I'm not planning on starting a business any time soon, although I did sell clay figurines at a restaurant for a few years. Ran out of ideas, though. Now I'm just a writer. :-)

Hi Jocelyn,

You're talking about the pirate dress, right? Yeah, I'll post pictures once I get the bodice and put the costume together. I did want Brielle to make me a red pirate sash, but I don't have the money. :( I guess I could go to the dollar store and find one for cheap.

Ooooh, an Éowyn dress! I really want her Shieldmaiden dress.. actually I want all her dresses. lol Yeah, I an imagine it would be quite expensive. I want her to make me an elven dress, and the only time I'll have enough money for it is when my birthday comes. But.. then that would mean I'd have no money for Christmas presents...

Thanks for mentioning me in your post. :D

Your friend,
Jennifer

I love finding t-shirts with cool stuff on them. I have this one shirt with Schroder (if that's his name) from Penuts playing his little piano and it says, "play that funky music." I love that shirt...too bad it's a little to small now. There's this one guy in our church that has a pretty amusing shirt collection. On one side of one of his shirts it says "Armenianism: I chose this shirt." The other side says "Calvinism: This shirt chose me." Another one would be "I'm huge in Japan." I can't remember any more, but he's known for his shirts.
*sigh* Your post about people doing cool things with their time makes me see how unproductive I've been. If I had started piano 5 or more years ago, I could be teaching soon. I need to be more diligent.
Thank ya for your post.
