I totally agree, I am not the most organized person in the world, I have stuff thrown together in drawers, and all over my desk, but I LOVE a clean room. My school day is very scheduled, I have a certain amount to do each day and I am not done until I get it finished. But, aside fro school, i don't like organization that much! I would love to just be able to sleep like 5 hrs so that I could just go to sleep at midnight and get up at 5, then I could get tons of stuff that I need to do done, and things that I want to do too. Well, I have rambled enough. Have a great week!

My comp. Files with pics. and what not is all put in it place and I organize it weekly! I loe organization and all the things out there to do things with.
I feal right now that my school is very stifeling I have nothing to be creative with so Im trying to make out my own personal home ech system to be as creative as possible. I couldent stay away from HSB too much a part of my life style by now. And its a big part of my "socilization" ;)

Fifth comment! Wow! You usually have way more comments than that when I visit your blog. I wish I was more organized. I have a bin of my school books, but when I am done with one, I don't often put it back in the bin, but on top instead. This is a bad habit as well as an avalance waiting to happen! Stop by anytime!

Hello Jocelyn,
Well how are you doing?
I'm sorry I haven't been by in a while...I enjoyed reading your posts…..

I had to redo my schedule this year for school, work and teaching sewing lessons....Life just gets busy. I like all my things in one place, neat and orderly, but I'm not to worried about things getting out of order....:) I know where all my paper work is...

I enjoyed reading your "Fall" post...this is my favorite season...especially if I go walking in the woods...it is just so pretty...and I don't mind getting caught in the rain...…

Well I hope you are having a good day my friend…
Talk to you soon.

Love,
Brielle

I am not that organized. I keep my area around my desk kinda' clean, but on the most part it is not all filled were I know where it is.

My computer on the other hand is much more organized.

I word best with a list also, Mom give me one and I can get it done, but as you said it does take me a while were as I should have it done in a more timely manner...

Anyway, more character to work on!

I am like you. I throw everything into ONE folder - it's how I work best. Sure, no one else can find a THING but at least I know what I need and where it's at in a flash. Most the time anyway, ha.

Love you!

I think you and I talked about this on the phone.... Sort of.. I remember bits and pieces :) I am a wannabe perfectionist. I try to be but never succeed. I try to keep my papers all together but as you saw by my email the other day it backfired on me. HA! Annoying......

Ha! I shoulda put Corn Fest insted of one word. It is cornfest but I shoulda put it two words :P Yeah I hate it when people think I can't do something cause I am in a skirt. I forgot to add that the person who was helping operated the mechanical bull was scolding me about riding it in a skirt. BEFORE I EVEN WENT ON IT! So I said 'Hey! I climbed the rock wall three times. I can ride a mechanical bull in a skirt too.' Lets just say it shut him up :)

I am normally not rude like that but he was irritating me and he was scolding my friends mom cause she was in a skirt to. Although she didn't ride he still had to scold her about it! He was the rude one. argh.. annoying. I never back down from a challenge. Unless it's completely inappropriate :)

Love ya

I am by nature very organized and quite the planner. This, however, does not always bode well with my three rowdy boys who are not only in their own time zone, but their own little world!

To go with the flow, I just have daily goals and a to-do list. The goals are relatively simple like starting lessons no later than 9am (early is good too though!), finishing by lunchtime, bed at a decent hour (failing miserably in this one!), and not getting on the computer until after lunch and after the boys are in bed.

Good for you, Jocelyn!

I'm working on the same thing, as now I have my own laptop and have to stay organized...especially to keep from getting distracted. I've taken to only doing my online stuff after completing my offline stuff...studying chemistry and World Views are my main focuses aside from screenwriting, blogging and painting. I have to remember to make the most of my time since I have to help my mom so much with household things.

We also have to remember to take care of ourselves and not get stressed/burned out! It's a big balancing act.

Sorry about that. ^_^ I got carried away. But I did shorten my blog to only two posts until that one gets pushed down. I knew that if I didn't post those pictures quick I'd never do it, and I had promised twice on my blog that I was going to do it. My speed is running 37.2 at the moment! 0_0 Hold on to your hat!! >_<

Ah, yes. Spending my time wisely, doesn't always come out like I plan. I wake up thinking, "Ok, I'm going to do this, this, and this today." NOT!! Life isn't perfect. 0_0
I find that if Mom makes me a list, I can pretty much get everything done. So I make myself a list. I find that it works much better that-a-way. It doesn't take very long for me to do my schoolwork, so that leaves lots of time for getting chores and things done.
Ok, I'll stop babbling. ^_^
Have a blessed day.

Good for you!!! Personally, I think I'm more like Amanda with the ABC folders and everything. ;-) I think it's an eldest trait. Have you ever read The Birth Order Book by Kevin Leman?? That's some really interesting stuff...

And you finally did it!! You're my 800th commenter. ;-) I knew you'd end up on that list somehow...haha.

Did it take you a long time to learn how to make templates?

That sounds like a noble resolution! I like for things to be orderly and clean, myself. Clutter tends to pile up on my desk during the day, and I feel like I can get so much more done when it's cleaned off.

It was nice hearing from you again. :-) I haven't been on much because I've been sick again. Sigh. Hopefully going to the doctor today.

Till next time,

Good subject. I've been thinking about that a lot lately. I'm not quite a perfectionist but I do like to have "a place for everything and everything in it's place." I've struggled greatly with DOING things orderly and actually accomplishing everything, or at least most everything I ought to in one day. I was doing good for a while but just in the past couple weeks I think I've started lagging behind.

Thanks for this post. At least one person has been encouraged by it!

-Melanie

What a coincidence! Just yesterday my mommy and I were dicussing how chaotic our lives were getting. Not that we are doing a lot of things, but we are either doing too much of one thing, and too little of another. I plan to post about it eventually, but we just put up a schedule. Now, like you said, we don't want it to be suffocating, so "it's more like guidelines".

Thanks for your comment.

I don't know where I fall in those lines of orderly and nonorderly... I have some things in specific orders because I can be a perfectionist. Like on my flash drive I have folders for all the different things, and folders in the folders to separate things, and I have my friends' pics in order by last name, and my drawings in order by book, actress, etc. Since my school is all on the computer, it's all in order by itself.

Kk, I go over to the SE blog...

I've got to agree with totustuus--organization is a first-born thing! Not to say we second, third, or fourth-borns shouldn't work on it :-). This year my mom has a pretty strict schedule laid out for all of us, and I'm finding it's actually working pretty well, except on days when we have other activities going on.

Oh, I think I found my long lost (little) sister. When working on papers in college, I would collect all my notes and spread them out on the floor in the front room. Me writing a paper took up the entire living room. I drove my husband nuts for two weeks every semester!

I still d a little, because my desk is always cluttered and he likes it all neat and organized. Once it is filed, however, I forget it exists.

So never fear. You may have these struggles until you are 33 (like me...the age of adulthood for a Hobbit!). But you will find that along with the challenges comes other things. Every personality type has its own unique challenges and gifts and you have yours which are directly related to your weaknesses.

It is funny how that works.

Hi Jocelyn! So sorry I haven't commented in so long.

Well...it's hard for me to say which category I fit under. I am most definitely a perfectionist, I can say that much. As for orderly...well... I think that sometimes orderliness can come over time as you mature. I used to be pretty messy and not really want to organize, but now it is more of a habit and not so much a chore. I think that I work better in a more organized space. I'm not a total neat-freak like some, but that's just the way I function.

And, I know how you feel about getting stuff done and not dilly-dallying. That's sometimes how I feel when I blog. Some days I'm just not on top of things, and just kind of mosey around. I need to get better at that, though.

Once again, great post (as always)!

Love,
Kylie

I have a really hard time staying on schedule and being organized. Mostly because I tend to daydream, which means I'll be doing chores or something and suddenly wander off into my bedroom, forgetting all about what I was supposed to do next. Not to mention wasting time between school subjects...your post was really encouraging, because I too feel like I need to "grow up" a little and start taking control of my time :-D

Dear Jocelyn,

Wow, your like echoing my thoughts exactly from the past few weeks. There is so much to do that I want to do or need to do or both. School, chores, music practice are things that need to be done. While on the other hand, crocheting, reading, computer time, ect... there are so many other things I want to be able to do, but really have to prioritize. Also, I know what you mean about being organized. My family has been calling me an "organized person", but when they go into my closet... well they see that I am not that way in there. It reminds me of someone being clean, and Godly on the outside, but thinking sinful thoughts on the inside. Thank you for you post and I hope that everything falls into place well for you. I will pray for you. God bless and have a great night!
