A Pondering Heart

Dec. 2, 2007 - HSBAward Update

The HSBAwards tomorrow. The whole HSBA Team has worked really hard to get everything set-up and in order. We also received a comment asking about the legalities of the HSBA Team Members participating in the awards themselves. The HSBA Team is just a bunch of Homeschoolers trying to do something fun for everyone - all family-friendly Homeschoolers can participate in the awards. We are not lawyers. We are simply Homeschoolers and as such we did not look into any legalities for the awards, but since we have prizes for the winners of the awards they are classified as a "contest" by the Law. Because the awards have been classified as a contest, all Team Members writing on the HSBA site are NOT partaking in the awards. This means that yours truly has been disqualified from the Best Teen Gal Category. Sprittibee wrote a post about this and the final rules of the Awards on the HSBA site, if you wish to read it.

I am sad that I will not have the pleasure of being in the awards (or perhaps even winning), but life will go on and I will too. Thank you to all who nominated me.... I was so honoured that you think I am Best Teen Gal Blogger.

If you would please do me another honour and vote for Eyebright @ Defective Composition in the Teen Gal Category tomorrow. I believe Eyebright is an outstanding blogger who helps out "behind the scenes" around HSB. I think she deserves to win this category, and I hope she does. There are some really neat prizes in this category.

Thank you for all the lovely comments. Even when I'm being a lazy blogger you still think of me...How sweet you are.

I liked the post about your "snappy new shoes" I only get new tenny's about every year or two also. It makes getting new ones all the more special!

Hey Jocelyn! Everyone did a great job putting this together. It's too bad that they can't partake in the prizes. But either way, I'm sure they all had fun!

I'm sorry the HSBA ended up going through all this mumbojumbo. It seems that it has become a competition rather than a resource for the best blogs to encourage homeschoolers. I was enjoying browsing through previous years winners so I could be encouraged by other HS families. Maybe next year will be a heap whole lot different.
