I am sure that you have seen this meme floating around at other homeschooling blogs. This one is a popular one. I saw it at The Upward Call this week so I decided to tag myself (how pathetic is that?)
One homeschool book you have enjoyed
The Well Trained Mind. I don't use this anymore but it gave me a very good start. I think this book is excellent for new homeschoolers. It gives them a blueprint of what to do, when to do it and how to do it. Once they have the confidence of teaching and picking out curriculums, they can do it on their own, if they so desire. That is what I did. It was good to have a firm foundation with WTM.
One resource you wouldn't be without
Okay, it's a three--way tie. 1) the library--we don't have a big library but our ILL is awesome. I can usually get any book I want. 2) the internet--Up until last week, I didn't really have a hs support group. I have found my support by way e--groups and message boards. 3) RightStart Math--for a math-phobic momma this curriculum is an answer to prayer. I am able to teach my children math in a confident manner.
One resource you wish you'd never bought
I only have one for this. Living Learning Books 1. This was just too little for way too much money.
One resource you enjoyed last year
One resource you will use this year
Drawn Into the Heart of Reading. I haven't bought this yet but I am hoping to next month. It is a guide to help you with literary discussion. I am buying this until I can afford the resource mentioned in the next question.
One resource you would like to buy
Teaching the Classics. This is so expensive that I think at this point it is only a dream.
One homeschooling catalogue you enjoy reading
Rainbow Resource
One homeschool website you use regularly
There isn't really a website that I use, but I do use the yahoo groups for classical education and ambleside. Those groups are a great help for me.
