First Saturday happened...

And then Monday happened!
It must be our week for mishaps.
Saturday was bee sting day (read here)
And today our oldest son did this at the lake.  Don't know how, don't know where.  But YUCK.
He said he stubbed his toe on a rock.  It bled and bled and bled.

This was taken Monday night after we got home and I was redressing the wound.
There's a bit of Neosporin on his toe but definitely NO SKIN!!

Tuesday we have a trip planned to the Water Park.  I think I need all of you to pray for a safe trip!!!

PLEASE!

A bad day

Saturday was a bad day here.  Our middle son was stung by a bee while swimming.  You see the results below and then as we were getting in the car to go have dinner we got too close to a yellow jacket nest and I got stung, as did baby girl.  The good news?  My oldest, who is allergic to yellow jackets, did not get stung!!!

Let me tell you those nasty little guys are aggressive!

Here's our poor baby after his lip was about half the size it started out.....

Today, Monday, it's still swollen and goes through various degrees of "swellingness" throughout the day.  (I know, that's not a word!)

Any suggestions?  I'm trying a tea bag as I type.

Thanks,
IN HIM and thankful for HIS protection over our oldest....

Today and hormones

Today was just one of those days I woke up funky.  We had planned to go see the free movie "Surf's Up" with friends and then spend the day at the lake.  What I really wanted to do was hide in a hole and growl.  That sounded like fun, huh?  The movie was really cute though and after we got to the lake I read in Revelations for a while.  I love Revelations.  It's so graphic, mysterious and awesome!  I can just see Jesus' feet shining like bronze, his hair while as snow and his eyes like fire.  COOL!!

By the end of the day (now) I'm feeling better after a nice day at the lake, grilled hamburgers and fun with friends.  I prayed hard all day for the Lord to calm my raging hormones.  Ugh.  Don't you hate those things.  I wonder what hormones were like BEFORE the fall?  Had to be a piece of cake, maybe even enjoyable!

Now I find myself in the camper under our carport with all three children sleeping as I blog.  The rain gently falls on the driveway as the crickets and night time bugs hum away outside.  I'm getting ready to hit some Zzzz's too.  Maybe tomorrow will be hormone free!

I also would like all of you praying sisters out there to lift up someone really special in my life.  I can't tell you who right now and I can't tell you what but her family is sitting pretty for a miracle (as Beth Moore says).  And they need one, well.....three, really!  If the Lord leads will you please lift up my special someone in prayer?

I'll keep you posted on the miracles I just know God is going to give them.

As always....only in Him...

We're Back!

After traveling for what feels like the better part of the month we're home.  Here's a rare family shot (with flash...yuck) from our weekend in Alabama.  We visited my husband's mom and that side of our wonderful family.  It was loads of fun and we had a great 4th of July.

Family Tradition at the beach #3

THE SUNSET CRUISE
One more thing we always manage to do at the beach is to take a sunset cruise.  It's aboard this awesome catamaran.  We've done it for so many years now that I've forgotten how many.  We leave from Beaufort NC and travel out for about an hour and the sun sets as we come back into dock.  Here are some photos of our trip this year.

Some photos where you actually can seem me!  (snapped by my kids or my mom)
