Do you have a homeschooling-related blog, either here on HSB or elsewhere? How about a homeschooling website? Can you write well? Do you have a heart for other homeschooling moms who keep their kids at home in spite of tough times or the desire to quit?
Then Thoughts on Homeschooling Anyway would like to give you a platform. If you've had experience with jumping (or crawling) over life's hurdles and stayed steady with your homeschooling, or even just had a rough day and you want to share how you got through it, then be my guest for a day. Or maybe you're one who decided that putting your kids in a brick-and-mortar school was the best thing for your family...your story may be helpful, too.
Unfortunately, not everyone who contacts me will get to be a guest blogger, but don't let that stop you! Let me see what you've got. All guest bloggers will get a link back to their blog/s or web site/s. This is free advertising for you! (All entries from guest bloggers will be lightly proofread for spelling, grammar, and punctuation, but nothing will be rewritten.)
If you think you'd like to share your story with someone who really needs to hear it, email me at sally@homeschoolinganyway.com.
Nancy over at WildThorntons gave me this terrific BFF (Blog Friend Forever) Award today! Nancy is also one of my MySpace friends, and if we didn't live so durned far away from each other, I'm sure we'd be Starbucks buddies, too.
In turn, I will pass this on to some of my friends here on HSB. Soon. Perhaps tomorrow. But right now, I'm going to bed.
Hop on over to Reviews by Heidi as soon as you can (and then come back!). Heidi's giving away a copy of Sushi for One by author Camy Tang, and will be drawing one name from all who enter and can tell her a fact about Asia.
Over at one of my favorite blogs, ReviewsByHeidi, I learned of this fun little contest over at another blog called 5 Minutes for Mom. You can sign up to win this terrific "Sick Bear" bowl. Having the flu is never fun, but having one of these would make it a tad more "bear"able.
So, go check out these two blogs, and say hello while you're there. Don't forget to sign up to win the bowl!
I stumbled upon this blog today by Crib Chick over at www.blogspot.com. ("Crib Chick" is a hip housewife who takes care of her "peeps".) I needed a laugh after a stressful day, and I definitely got more than one -- I got a few. I was searching for articles to encourage me as I attempt to homeschool a mid-range teenager (that's 15 years old -- as of yesterday -- and getting somewhat adept at testing those suffocating parent-imposed boundaries), a low-range teenager (13 years old and still somewhat pliable -- but then, that might also be his demeanor), and a preteen (11 years old, going on 22), while also trying to stay sane taking care of my very needy creeper. I'd call her a toddler, but at 13 months, she's still "creeping" along, holding on to furniture as she zooms about a room. She can stand on her own, but the thought of actually walking still terrifies her just a smidge.
Anywho, I came upon the above-mentioned blog and had to share it with you. Enjoy, and visit her often. I will be! (Don't forget to come straight back here to www.homeschoolblogger.com!
Are you homeschooling ... anyway? Very few of us, if any, escape the tragedies and other disappointments of life. In the summer of 2004, we experienced a tragedy of our own with the death of our pre-born baby. It was a devastating blow, but that year we homeschooled ... anyway. We were blessed with another little one, but were soon face to face with my husband's cancer diagnosis (multiple myeloma) in early 2006. And again, we homeschooled...anyway. If you need support, encouragement, or just want to know what "a day in the life" is like for another family who chooses to continue homeschooling in spite of difficulties, stick around! I'm glad you're here, and that I can be here, too, to share the ups and downs (even the days when I feel like I'm skidding sideways) of our homeschooling family: Dad, Mom, two teenagers, a preteen, and a toddler. And be sure to visit my website: http://www.homeschoolinganyway.com. To everyone who signs up for my newsletter, I'm offering a free report filled with great tips for having a successful homeschool day.

Save your homeschooling memories with a photobook. When you're home with your kids
all day, you have so much to do and so little time. Scrapbooking is a nice idea...but most of us
never actually get around to it. Photobooks are a great alternative. You send in your pictures
(online), customize the photobook you want, and Snapfish.com does all the work for you.
All photobooks are currently 20% off, and new customers will also get 20 free prints.
And as we know...free is good!
We've all heard of VistaPrint's FREE Business Card promotion -- they've had it for quite some time now.
But what if you don't have a business? Tell you what: these cards are the perfect tool for busy homeschooling
moms who want to stay in touch with other busy homeschooling moms. Have some made out with your name,
phone number, email address, and website or blog info, and hand them out! It's so much easier
than having to drop everything to search for a piece of paper in your purse, only to end up writing
your phone number on a gum wrapper (been there...). Give VistaPrint a try (your friends will be impressed!).
