A Very Special Day

Posted in Life Soup

Well, it's official...
I'm 40 !!!!
Goodbye to my 30s and hello to a new decade of life.  Thanks Belinda for remembering and for being the first to wish me a happy birthday!!  I'm so glad the Lord saw fit to cross our paths in life.  By the way, yes, I live in CST zone.

Well, I had my very first birthday party Saturday.  It was a "surprise", but unfortunately, the antics were so out of the ordinary, I figured it out before arriving.  I was so mad at myself for figuring it out!  I didn't tell anyone though.  My husband did a great job.  It was his idea and some of our home group members from church attended.  One particular lady from our home group did all the legwork since it would be IMPOSSIBLE for him to do it all without my knowing it.  Perhaps the biggest surprise was that my parents traveled 3 hours to be there too.  That meant a whole lot to me.  My older brother came with my parents.  He specializes in video and sound production and prepared a slideshow of my first 40 years.  It was very nice.  Some of the pictures, I wouldn't have included, but hey!  One day, if I build up the nerve, I'll post it on YouTube and let you guys see it.

Today will be fun-filled.  It won't be the usual school day.   The girls and I will go out to lunch and to the Pink Palace Museum in Memphis.  I will also take my mentee, April.  After that, we'll drop April off and head home.  Tonight, we go to the restaurant of my choice.  I'm still undecided.

It's funny.  I had my first birthday party.  People came.  I was the person of honor.  Yet, I get more excited about going on a "date" with my husband, going on our traditional birthday dinner with my family, and hanging out at home with close friends and family.  Yep... it looks like I've gotten old.  *LOL*

This is my place of rest and reflection on my life and my home school. I am Terry's wife and the proud mother of three daughters (16, 12, and 4). Please make yourself at home as I ramble about our school, our kids, my job, my love of sports, current events... you name it! Oh, and by all means, leave a comment so I can visit your blog as well.
