I'm now officially done recording my first single! So now I'm going to make an account on www.cdbaby.com and then release it! I'll have another post up when I've done that.

So me and some friends were talking and we're going to start a praise youth band. I'll be playing bass. But we don't know yet. I talked to my dad, but one drawback would be that we would have to practice and play one wednesday evenings. During bible study at my church. So could you all pray for me?

So for the past few weeks me and a friend of mine have been doing guitar lessons at the same time so we can learn how to play together. Josiah (the friend I'm talking about I've known him for 8 years) is playing lead, and I'm playing rythm. Then we have to, at the end of 16 measures (we have to play the riff in E then A), we switch playing lead and rythm while continuing playing. And today I'm gonna go over there to pratice. And I'll try to get some pics up here soon.

So I sit down saturday morning to record, right? My dad walks up and says we need to leave right now to go help set up for the harvest festival. And next weekend I'm gonna be in Denver at Dare 2 Share. So....it'll be a few weeks before I get that song out. Sorry!

Ok, so it seems like whenever I try to record, something comes up. Then I can't record. So, HOPEFULLY, I'll be able to finish a song this weekend. I know I've been saying that a lot, but this time I mean it. lol. Ok, so will all you guys who read this pray for me? Thanks.

So I couldn't finish recording this weekend because I had the flu, but this weekend I'm gonna work really hard so I can release the song this weekend. I know I've said that before, but this time I'm not going to mess around. So hopefully I'll be posting that I'm done recording it this weekend and will have it released on cdbaby.

But I got a cat, and my dad's letting me start reading fantasy! Both are prayers come true (quite literally).

So it turns out that my guitar teacher has been there the entire time. He was closed for a few days before a big music festival, but other then that he says he's been open at regular hours. The only thing about that is that we've left several messages, and stopped by several times, and he didn't get in contact with us. But the point is that he's back (sorta, lol) and I'll start guitar lessons again today!

So what do you think of these song titles? "F(r)iend" and "The Dead Spy Scrawls". One the second one, if it's confusing, ever heard of The Dead Sea Scrolls?

So we talked and my dad said no, I can't buy it or a computer in general right now, because of two things: one, my other situation (read about it in my other blog), and two, I have to show that I can work hard on school. But there is a bonus. He said if I want, he'll bring it home on the weekends and I can record then! So hopefully I'll be able to start recording this weekend.

So right now things are at a halt. My guitar teacher hasn't been there for a few weeks, and he hasn't contacted me yet. He also has my acoustic guitar, tab sheets, and tuner. But I've got other books I'm working on, and mom has a tuner that works for my guitar. Also, me,my mom, and dad are going to talk about it and see if I can buy dad's old mac laptop. If I can, then I'm going to really start trying to record. Although there is something good in all of this. I've contacted a singing instructor, and hopefully he'll respond, and then I'll be taking singing lessons. So anyone who reads this will please pray for me?

P.S. If you're walking along one day and everything around you drops dead, that will be me singing.

Well, I've thought up the name for the album and some of the songs............the album name is gonna be A Name, Not A Number. Signifying that we are all unique in our own way, and nobody can tell us different. So far I've only got about 4 tracks thought up and almost done. Remember this is gonna be an instrumental album. There is an intro called Game On, another song called Storms, another that the name I haven't thought up yet, and an outro named..............Outro! Lol. K, I'll tell you all more when it comes up!

Ok, well things aren't exactly ROLLING......it's more like getting nudged in the right direction. So I got the guitar-to-computer cable to work, and it records, but with one problem. It thinks it's a headphone jack. You seee to plug it into the computer, you have to plug the actual cord into your amp headphone jack, and plug your guitar in normally, otherwise the sound isn't loud enough. And the problem with it thinking it's a headphone jack is that you can't record and listen to what you're recording at the same time. Ya. And the computer that I'm trying to record on is too old, and dad syas I can't get one of my own until I'm done with the school year (which I hope will be soon). So I'm most likely gonna record on my guitar teacher's computer or in his studio.........so someone's behind the stone pushing it (I'm about 99.99% sure that it's God lol). So it's almost rolling! If you're praying then keep on, or if you're not, please start! Thanks!

Well, my dad came up with an idea that, instead of putting the songs directly on cdbaby, I could just put them on here, and have all who read this vote on what sounds better, what they think will sell, etc. It will take me a while to do it, but I think it is a good idea. I will try to get them up here ASAP.

So, for the first song I'm working on, I'm going to record it, and put it as a single on www.cdbaby.com in about.............one to four weeks. On the first hand, I just want to take a whack at it, and on the second hand, I want to see if I can pull this off and if people will think I am good enough to buy it. So I'm still working on the song. Should have it done in a few weeks to a month. It's almost done with all the notes and stuff all ready, but then we have to spice it up with effects, and speed and tempo and all that. "We" as in me and my guitar teacher.
