Planning for our first year

We started this group mid-year. I had heard about the group and thought it would be fun. For several years, my husband and oldest son worked on some of the badges. We thought it might be helpful to have some others join us in this adventure – for both accountability (actually making time to do the badge work!) and expertise (there are so many areas in which we have NO experience).

We found 5 other families that were willing to join our group and began our planning in the Fall of 2004. We wanted this to be a co-operative effort so that the work was equally shared. Each parent agreed to teach one topic/class for the year. We started our meetings just after Christmas. These were our plans for that first year.

We tried to choose topics in a variety of areas in the handbook. We decided to work on 2 topics with both boys and girls. When I start posting pictures, I’m sure I’ll have much more from the girls than the boys. Is that a surprise to anyone?
