Of Playing the Piano

You'd think that playing the piano is like riding a bicycle - you never forget.  But that's not so.  It's has been almost three years since I stopped taking lessons.  It was 2 years after that that I decided to sit down and play again given the circumstance.   But I couldn't.  My fingers weren't making music like they once had.  I was rusty.  Panic slowly crept upon me.  I can't play anymore!?!  I was shocked.  Surely reading and playing music was like doing an algebraic equation?  You follow a simple formula and voilà! - problem solved.  Unfortunetly not... for me anyways.  While there can be indefinite amounts of time between algebraic equations my mind will still grasp and comprehend them.  Not with music though.  It has been hard trying to play again.  It isn't that I can't play.  It's that I can't remember how to play.  Much unlike riding a bike.  But I will play again.

Awww, Kait. I'm there too. My fingers feel like weeping willow tree limbs when it comes to the piano now. :-)

Btw, your writing style and manner in this post is extroidinary. I'm not kidding.

Hey Kaitlin... what's up? You know, I've thought about this before. Since I quit taking flute lessons a couple of years ago, I've wondered if I could still remember how to play if I got my flute back out.
Hope you're having a good week.

Oh! I can't believe I missed your 17th birthday!!!

Sorry...
:(

HAPPY (late) BIRTHDAY!!!!!

Yes, astronomy is fascinating.
I was shocked when they “de-planeted” Pluto!
Besides it not being fair… they have to rewrite all the text books!

Well, the geocentric idea is a ridicules thought. It means that the earth is in the center of solar system and the sun revolves around us.

Heliocentricity means that the sun is a HUGE gas burning fire ball that has so much gravity that it keep all the planets orbiting it.

Hey Kaitlin,
Just thought I'd drop by and say hi! I can't say that I've ever stopped playing the piano for that long, but I know during the summer when I don't play very much I mess up a bunch when I start back. On the other hand, when I memorize a piece it seems to stick with me forever. It'll take me a little while to get it back up to par, but not nearly as long as it did to start with.
Good luck with the piano playing! Have a great weekend!
Love,
Briana

Isn't that picture of him SO CUTE!
I like that hat too.

LOL, Luke had the keys in his hand (I don't know why) and he put his arm in the elevator to stop the door from closing. Well just as he was slinging his arm into the little opening he let the keys go and they fell right down the elevate crack/shaft/thing.

:D

Did you ever see my astronomy video?
