I was having so many problems getting my posts to show up that I decided to make my family blog my main blog. So if you are interested in checking it out here is the new address... I have been adding a lot of homeschool and homemaking posts over there so there should be something for everyone. |

Today has been one of those days where I don't feel good and just want to lay down. I'm guessing its from being pregnant and hoping I'm not getting sick. The kids decided that me resting in bed was a good time for me to read to them. So we snuggled up together with a big pile of books and had a great time. Here are a few of the books we read that ended up being repeats later in the day.

School has been going really well for us this month. Devon has been getting into some older books for her free reading. Usually she likes to read easy books but the last two she's chosen have been Julie of the Wolves and By the Shores of Silver Lake. Much better than Magic Tree House or Arthur Chapter Books. I am starting Five in a Row with Regan on Monday. Ryan will probably join us since he loves being read to. I think we are going to start with The Story of Ping and then do A Pair of Red Clogs the second week. I had my first OB appt yesterday. It was with the nurse and was a new patient type appt. For now they are putting my due date as May 2nd but that may change. I am having an ultrasound on the 20th of October and that should give us a more accurate due date. |

This past week has been so busy! On Sunday we had a party for my sons third birthday. We took him to Chuck E Cheese's to play and have pizza then home to have cake and ice cream. Most of our extended family came to the house so it was pretty crowded. But lots of fun. Then on Wednesday I found out I am pregnant! Yahoo!!! I was in shock when I saw the positive test result. I started laughing and crying at the same time. My family was a little concerned. We also started swimming lessons this week. All three children have lessons on Mondays and Wednesdays. Whats really nice is that all their lessons are at the same time so I'm not there ALL day. Devon restarted her piano lessons on Tuesday. She had a three week break because her teacher went on vacation with her family. Other than that we've had the usual schoolwork, errands, trips to the library stuff. Next week will be busy too. I have to take my son back to the Dr. for his second blood draw. He has been really tired and thirsty lately. His first blood test showed he was anemic so I'm hoping the vitimins with extra iron are helping. If you think of it would you pray for him on Thursday? Last time it took three different Dr.s and lots of pokes to even find a good vein. |

I went to the library this afternoon to pick up some book that were on hold for me. They were Blogging For Dummies, HTML 4 For Dummies and Building A Website For Dummies. No, I don't have low self esteem. I just like these books. They are really easy to understand and when it comes to HTML I really need it easy. A few things I would like to learn are 1) What is an RSS Feed? 2) How can I change my background/wallpaper? 3) If I change my background, will I lose all my previous entries? I'm sure I will learn a lot more than that but those are the questions I'm starting with. |

Our first full week of school has gone extremely well. I have added all the subjects and most of our activities. Swimming lessons won't start until the third week of September so we'll have to wait on that. Devon has been excited about some of her new subjects and doesn't complain too loudly about the others. Regan and Ryan think school is SO much fun. They have been coloring, cutting, building, singing and having a great time! I am using Rod & Staff preschool with some added activities with them. I spoke to a friend of mine yesterday. It has been a long time since I spoke with her last. She shared with me that she and her husband are expecting their sixth child in April. I felt happy for her but at the same time I felt like crying. Michael and I have been trying since last August to have another baby. And while our time hasn't come it seems like everyone I know is pregnant! Sometimes I have dreams where I am holding a baby a smelling that wonderful baby smell. Then I wake up. I am SO thankful for the children I have and feel guilty sometimes for wanting more. Maybe not for wanting more but for not being content with the family God has blessed me with. I'm getting sad talking about this so I'll sign off now. Chelsea |

We made it home yesterday. We had the cabin until 3pm but left at 10am because Ryan hurt his arm. We took him to the local ER (all Dr. offices were closed for Labor Day) and after 5 hours of waiting, X-Rays and two opinions they determined his elbow was dislocated. They thought that was the problem when we first arrived but he didn't cry when his elbow was moved but he screamed when his wrist was touched. While we were there we had Regans stitches removed. Oh yeah! I haven't told about her stitches yet have I? On Wednesday night she was walking into her room and Ryan ran full speed into the bedroom door slamming it into Regans forehead. The lock caught her right above her eye and cut it open. It didn't bleed much but was deep enough that it required six stitches. One of those was in the cut to hold it closed. So basically we started and ended our vecation in the ER. |

I would like to change my blog background to one that is a Fall theme. I would also like to add a pumpkin between posts and falling leaves. Is anyone willing to help me out? I would be SO grateful!! |

Here is Devons new reading list. I keep making reading lists for her but change it when I find a new book I want to add. I plan on having her read two assigned books each month. She can read as many other books as she wants. I know she likes to read books that are a lower reading level than she is and thats fine. The books on her reading list are meant to stretch her a bit. Or theyre classics that I want her to read. On The Banks of Plum Creek - Laura Ingalls Wilder By The Shores of Silver Lake - Laura Ingalls Wilder The Long Winter - Laura Ingalls Wilder Mandy - Julie Andrews Edwards The Phantom Tollbooth - Norton Juster Besty-Tacy - Maud Hart Lovelace The House at Pooh Corner - A.A. Milne The Wizard of Oz - L. Frank Baum The Secret Garden - Frances Hodgson Burnett Mary Poppins - P.L.Travers Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm - Kate Douglas Wiggin Old Yeller - Fred Gipson Hatchet - Gary Paulson The Midwifes Apprentice - Karen Cushman Catherine, Called Birdy - Karen Cushman The Whipping Boy - Sid Fleishman Sarah, Plain and Tall - Patricia MacLachlan Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry - Mildred D. Taylor Courage of Sarah Noble - Alice Dalgliesh The Hundred Penny Box - Sharon Bell Mathis |

Our family is going on vacation next week. We'll be leaving on Thursday and getting home on Monday. There is a cabin on the coast that we rent each summer. It is SO nice to be able to go to a cabin instead of a hotel! Right now I am making a menu and grocery list, packing some stuff and getting laundry caught up. The cabin has most things we need but does not have any food supplied at all! Not spices or condiments! So I have to bring all that stuff. Oh, I also need to bring toilet paper, laundry soap, etc. My goodness! I better start making a list of all this stuff before I forget it! So this week I'll be finishing the packing and getting the house straightened up so when we get home it won't be a huge mess. Wish me luck! |

I go in next week for my first OB appt.
