1.) At one time, it was against the law to serve ice cream on cherry pie in Kansas.
2.) Smith County is the geographical center of the 48 contiguous states.
3.) Barton County is named for a woman, the famous Civil War nurse, Clara Barton.
4.) Kansas has the largest population of wild grouse (prairie chicken) in North America.
5.) The element Helium was discovered in 1905 at the University of Kansas.
6.) Sumner County is known as The Wheat Capital of The World.
7.) The world's largest hand-dug well is in Greensburg, Kansas.
