Another Month

Well here it is, another month since I've done an entry...*sigh*...I've really got to get my organization in order, and start getting stuff done.

We've been doing more school stuff lately, but still have not started our official year yet. My sister and I are playing around with some ideas on how to make our grading and log book easier, and more managable, as I am really bad on keeping up on that stuff....Hopefully it will all work out, to make my life easier, and more in order.

We are also taking a more active role in our housekeeping. When I was working full time, and as a single homeschooling Mom, housekeeping wasn't always on the top of my priority list at times. In any case, the girls and I both have chores to do daily now. They don't always get done, like this week. We've had so many other things to do, that I now have dishes piled to the ceiling *LOL*, well, okay, it's not that bad, but they are piled pretty high, as we've been too busy during the day to get them done, or too tired in the evenings. I think it's important for the girls to have chores. Not only does it help me to have more time for other things, but it teaches them as well. They will grow up knowing how to clean a house, so that when they *sigh* move out of my house, they will not think that the house cleans itself...*LOL*...It teaches them responsibility as well. If they are taught to be responsible with their chores now, they will be reponsible when it comes to working, or making sure the bills are paid on time, later in  life.

Well folks, there are my tidbits of information. I hope that you learned something, or at least found another that has the same teaching beliefs as yourself.

Until next time, God be with you!!

Aug. 21, 2008 - Transcript Information Needed Please

Posted by Anonymous
Hello!

My name is Cheryl Coffey and my daughter Meribeth just graduated this past May. I homeschooled her her final three years of high school. During her senior year she also enrolled at KCCC here in Leavenworth and took a years worth of classes.

She is again enrolling in KCCC and this year they are requesting her "official" transcript. I had a transcript for her from ninth grade that was issued from a Christian school she attended in Iowa. I filled in the final three years from my records.

The school is telling her that her transcript is not offical looking enough and that there is an official homeschool transcript form for Kansas that we should know about.

Do you know what form they are talking about? It seems their only complaint is that I wrote in the grades instead of typing them in. I found some odd and end forms online which we can fill in if necessary, but I'm not sure if that will be enough to satisfy them. They also want us to fill it out and put it into a sealed envelope and then have it notarized. Have you ever heard of this?

I don't mind doing what is needed to be done, but I do not want to be sent on a wild goose chase simply because she was homeschooled.

Thanks for any help you can offer!
