Having Trouble Finding a Homeschool Support Group in Your Area?

Having Trouble Finding a Homeschool Support Group in Your Area?

If you are having trouble finding a homeschool support group in your area, that is a frustrating thing. Maybe I can help you out a little.

Suggestion #1:

Over on the right-hand side of the page you will see a section called, "Homeschooling in Kansas" and under that section you'll see where it says, "Support Groups". The very first link called, "Click-able Map Showing Support Groups Across Kansas" will show you a map of the entire state of Kansas displaying support groups marked with dots. Click on any of the dots and it will show you the contact information on how to contact that group.

Suggestion #2:

Other homeschool support groups that are not listed on the above mentioned state map have links listed in the same section and below the map's link. These groups all have links directly to their web sites. The town or surrounding area is listed in the link to give you an idea of where they are located. Just click on the link and you will be taken to their web site.

Suggestion #3:

There are support groups that do not have web sites, and for this I just post them as a new post and then they are easily found under the "Post Categories", "Other Support Group Info" section. Just click there and it will bring up postings I have made of these groups and all the contact information for them can be found there.

Suggestion #4:

Call local churches and ask them for contacts or names of local homeschooling groups. If you call a few church offices, compare the information given and after a bit you should have some solid leads and a good idea of some groups to look into.

Suggestion #5:

Contact a homeschool support group that is the closest to you (that you find in a listing or on the map) and ask them if they know of any support groups in your area. Other support groups normally know of other groups around them or know of smaller spin-off groups from larger ones and so on. There may be a larger more formal group where there are dues and such and there may be a smaller group in your area just for your small rural town or maybe for your just your neighborhood in the city.

Suggestion #6:

Do a Google search using the keywords: Kansas, homeschool, support group, and be sure to include your city name or your county among the keywords. Keep doing searches like this until you get some information you can use.

Suggestion #7:

Contact me! I am always up for an investigation! Email me and let me know what town and county you are in and I will find out everything that I can for you and email you back the results. Sound good? :)

Happy hunting!

Denise
