“How to Study and Understand the
Bible”
Through the month of July we have been meeting twice during the week to study and learn the rules of Bible study to be able to rightly divide the word of truth as commanded in 2 Timothy 2:15. We are going on furlough in September. If there is anything that I would want to leave my children, spiritual and physical, in the event that anything should happen to me, it is the knowledge and ability of how to understand and apply the Bible in their lives. Here, as well as throughout the entire world, there is so much false and corrupt Bible teaching that is a direct result of failing to RIGHTLY DIVIDE the Scriptures. We have had a very exciting time and of any subject in the Scriptures that I personally enjoy teaching the most, other than the Gospel, it is this subject. It had revolutionized my entire life when I was finally able to rightly divide, understand and then submit to obey the Holy Scriptures. Not only have we been teaching the new converts here, but our two eldest children have been involved as well. We should be finished by sometime in August.

Deeper language studies
Through this summer, Laura, the daughter of Ion and Monica is on break from her university studies and is helping us in a major way with the language. Karen has a strong desire to take advantage of our time on the field in relation to the children’s homeschool education. She wants to immerse them into the language to the fullest. Romanian is the closest to true Latin than any other romance language. If someone is able to learn Romanian, the Italian and Spanish are much easier to pick up. Romanian also happens to be the hardest of all the Latin base languages. Most missionary kids learn to speak the language, but do not go on to learn how to read and write it. Well, since Laura aced courses in high school and her university of reading, writing and speaking English as well as her own language of Romanian, she has proven to be doing an excellent job in stretching our abilities in the Romanian language. As I have said a few times before, the language is a necessity to effectively relate to folks here and it has given us a tremendous freedom and made living here so much easier.
