Getting My Point Across

My goal of finishing Apologia General Science this summer was more ambitious than I realized, especially since we are only having lessons twice a week.  We started module 8 this morning and worked for a good hour until we were interrupted.  Our friends Dana and Ovidiu wanted to take John and I out to lunch.  I will tell that story later.

So far, I am enjoying studying Romanian using the English and Romanian bibles.  I know Romanian and when I mention to the people here that I want to study more, they always tell me that I know it well enough.  While I usually do manage to get my point across in a conversation,  I know that I have several weak areas in grammar  and conjugating verbs.  Many times I feel like the four year old that says something like, “Look at Mommy!  Her buyed a pretty dress.”  Four year olds can usually get their point across too.

Do you think that if I had one of those Bibles, I could learn Romanian? :-)
I am glad your dental experience went well. Guess what? I also am having to spend some time at the dentist's office. Today I went to the periodontist and have to return in 2 weeks. That will be "ouch" time (have to have some gun surgery done) tho I will have novacaine.
I am waiting to hear "the other story."
Love, hugs and kisses to all.

I love learning. I don't think there is such a thing as well enough if it is something you want to learn more about. Go for it! I am so impressed with anyone who can speak 2 languages!

"Her buyed a pretty dress." LOL! Sounds like how I talk to my six month-old! I'm convinced I've already ruined her grammar for life, even though she's not talking yet. So...she's absorbing this bad grammar, and I guess I'll spend the next several years correcting her! ;-)

Good for you for wanting to speak better Romanian! You're a true homeschooler: you know there's always more to learn. "Someday" I'll get better at Spanish.

I'm sure you speak Romanian just fine. Learning a new language is never easy, and I think it's gets harder as we get older. My girls are learning Spanish this year; and thankfully I took it in school, so I'm getting a refresher couse~ otherwise, I'm sure they'd pick it up much quicker than me!
Please do pass along any General Science pointers you might have~ we are just starting it this year~ my daughter will have her first test (I think) on Friday or Monday).

Of course you can learn Romanian better. Praise God that you can get your point across but don't 4yo's get frustrated when they aren't being understood exactly?

LOL, I'm still learning English some days and it is my first language.
