Science Experiment

Our first week of school went very well.  This afternoon we took a trip to the mall.  I was in need of some moisturizer and Hannah needs some new tennis shoes.  We looked at some name brand Sketchers that were on sale “buy one get one free”.  That sounded good until we realized one pair was nearly $100.  We’ll keep looking!

I also wanted to buy a small plant for a science experiment.  I am very bad with plants and do not have a single one in my house.  I consider them to be a waste of money for me because they die so quickly.  But for the sake of the science experiment, I bought one.  It had to be a small one because it had to fit inside of a jar.  Plants are easy enough to find here but getting a small one was a bit of a challenge.  We finally found one at one of the local markets and took it home and put it in our jar.  The funny thing about this experiment is that it is supposed to prove that a plant can survive and even grow enclosed in the jar.  A plant surviving in my house?  This should be interesting.  Stay tuned for pictures and updates.

I have 2 indoor plants...a Christmas cactus my mother gave me when my oldest was born (13 years ago). How it has survived is a MIRACLE! Plus, it blooms (barely) every year. Can't wait to see more photos...you have my curiosity!

I'm glad the first week back at school went well!

Give the plant to one of the kids to raise....my daughter propagated a plant from one small cutting and kept it alive for three years.(that would be a record in my house!) Sadly, it died while we were on vacation. Ironically it was OVER-watered before we left. At least with human "raisins" there's no harm done with too much love'n!

Looking forward to photos!

My husband John and I have been married for 22 years as of April 2009. We have 3 children- two teens and a 10 year old and have been homeschooling for most of their lives. After John left the State Police in 1992, we spent 10 years as missionaries to Romania. We returned from the field in March of 2007. John was rehired by the State Police in 2008 and the whole family is very involved in ministering in a new church plant.
